Can SSD users skip the reallocate step and just use e4rat-preload to prefetch data? I don't see how running a defrag tool on an SSD is going to do anything but make it worse.

Windows is just as guilty. "System Volume Information" "Recycler" and the Thumbs.db file, I'm looking at you.

I can sympathize with Matt here, but I'd opt for the 118d or 120d. The efficient but torque-happy diesel appeals to me too, but I'm hoping the 1 series has a bit less of the bloat that has crept into the 3.

@Kamatari +: Another group released a quick-and-dirty jailbreak first.

@zmnatz: Is that 5gb good for a few months until you use it? If so, then it could last 2-3 months even with regular use, which makes this a deal.

@kettlewhistle: Being connected to a known access point with no encryption is the same as being on a shared ethernet hub. Network traffic is visible to everybody, but that traffic could be encrypted. (Actually even on WPA networks, anybody who has already logged on to the network can see all the traffic as well).

Fantastic idea, but have you seen Google do voicemail transcription? My mother has only a slight southern accent, and the voicemail transcription comes out completely incomprehensible.

Great video. Char cloth can be used with a fire piston as well as modern flints to hold a spark long enough to put it to tinder. The main drawback is that you need really good tinder.

Terribly inefficient! Low capacity battery coupled to a linear regulator that will be 55-60% efficient if you're lucky.

Ubuntu is my primary OS, though I'm using the desktop as the Karmic guinea pig before I try and upgrade the laptop.
