@glamzonhobbitfeet: We get callers from Tennessee and Kentucky and I can't hardly understand what they're saying - they say "Goodlettsville" like "Guhlesill" and "Jackson" like "Jassin". They seem to swallow hard consonant sounds and it makes them very difficult to understand to an outside ear. I don't think they

@southernbitch: Oh lord, that just tickled me. "Ya'll"? "Ya", like some kind of truncation of "you" or "yeah", and "ll" like "will". Sounds more like "Yeah I will" than "You all".

@galaxina: Right, just sounding too different can be a hindrance, not just "too black" or "too southern".

@formerlyzivah: Here in Texas, we call every soda "Coke". As in, "I want a Coke.", "What kind of Coke?" "A Sprite Coke".

Perhaps they should study the effect of "accent" vs. "no accent". Somehow I think that a heavy Brooklyn accent would be almost, if not equally, disadvantageous as a southern one. Speaking in a regionally neutral way is usually an advantage, as it ensures that everyone you encounter can understand you when you speak.

@J.D.Regent: What, you never picked up on the hot, steamy stares GW and Dick Cheney give each other?

@ginger_t: I didn't refresh enough...that didn't show up until after I hit send...my apologies.

@toastandlove: Blah, okay. I just realized I put my foot in my mouth, big time.

@formerlyzivah: These things are worthwhile as hobbies, but yeah. They should be introduced to computers and science and philosophy and politics. Young kids learn fast. Get them GEDs and CCNAs and Microsoft certs, make them read if they want to stay in the program, make them dissect animals and take trigonometry. They

Dress or skirt + capri length leggings for me. Maybe I look like a high school tart, but they got it down. It's fairly cool in the summer, and keeps my sweaty thighs from rubbing on each other.

@tscheese: Word on the jersey dresses. I only have 2 right now, but god I want more...I have one that fits almost like a muu-muu, but has an interesting neckline and is tighter at the bottom. It is so freaking comfy. Pair it with ballet flats and big sunglasses, and I look stylish, but feel like im wearing a nightgown

I love EVERYTHING about Portia's outfit. Ballet flats, capris, pairing horizontal/vertical strips. And that top is YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES!

@little stripes: It's cause the old CEO came back and was like "Man why do we have all these stores we don't need? This shit is not a good business model, guys."

Yesterday I saw some douchebag driving on the highway with a bumper sticker that said something like, "I bet all the choicers are glad their parents weren't" or something equally retarded.

AGH, my mom has this outfit!! Liiivv...whyyyyy...

I really like that plaid dress...I like plaid anyway. Especially of the flannel variety. It's my inner bull-dyke, a voice that haunts me every so often...I just know it's a slippery slope. A flannel shirt here and there, and next thing you know I have full sleeve tattoos and a buzzcut and I drive a truck and build

HOFFMAN: It's the blanket. Think about the blanket.

@SomnambulantHobbit: Her hair looks like it's starting to go gray - and actually, it is exactly the same color/texture/thickness as my mother's, not to mention they have the same skin tone. Which is why Cameron Diaz will never, ever be attractive to me.
