I’m sure Ford has some friends who own a farm upstate. We won’t be able to visit, but he’ll be very happy up there, with lots of other automotive spokesthings to play with.

Friends come and go, regimes rise and fall, but 11foot8 is always 11foot8.
Nope. Processors are already struggling to get rid of the heat they produce, and making them smaller just decreases the radiant surface area. What you wind up with is the multi-chip CPU module, where you have multiple cores on a single substrate. So the individual CPUs may get smaller, but the “chips” get bigger.
Yeah, but that was 50 years ago! Surely things have changed since then.
Spinny McSpinnaker!
Ever seen a diesel run away? They crack a ring or hole a piston and suddenly they’re sucking the oil out of the sump and burning it and revving higher and higher. Fascinating to see on video, but I’d be terrified if I saw it happen in real life.
“But what happened to the Model 3?”
It’s pronounced “Pooch-AY”!
Wow, I’ll bet you really enjoy taking that thing out!
Meh, I’d just get one of the kits and drop a built SBC in it. Yeah, it wouldn’t sound the same, but you could get the same power that the originals had.
Yeah, I still get flashbacks to the clutch job I did on my 944. Took a friend and I about twenty hours and two cases of beer to do it over a long weekend. Disconnect and drop the transmission (at the far end of the torque tube), slide and shift the torque tube back (after fighting with the top two bell housing bolts),…
LOL, my ECU and ABS control unit have no moving parts, nice to know I’ll never have to worry about having a problem with either one of them!
It makes more sense on RWD cars, you’d have to be crazy to do it with FWD. Which is one of the reasons why I only buy RWD or AWD cars.
you put your foot down to accelerate a bit, suddenly the car shifts from 6th into 2nd
do you move right on over into the left lane (because fuck him) cutting him off and potentially causing an accident?
It was the middle of a long, hot summer of my 16th year. I had a job doing field work, and my folks had taken my brother and sister down to a lake for the week where some friends of theirs had a speedboat. Since I was working and was old enough to drive myself, I got to stay home.
Rocksteady and Bebop!
It’s not just wearing out your brakes, it’s heating them up to the point that they’re no longer effective. Not everyone flushes their brake fluid regularly (I would bet good money the majority of drivers in the US don’t even realize that’s a thing), so they wind up with brake fluid that boils at fairly low…
I got excited when I saw that picture, thinking “Sweet, it’s got keg storage, must have a tap or two somewhere!” Then I read the explanation and lost all enthusiasm.
A WRX is an economy car? All I can say is your economy is doing better than mine!
