He reminded me a lot of Matthew McConaughey in this - Killer Joe Matthew McConaughey to be exact whereby his character uses his height to throw an extra layer of machismo swagger by literally towering over anyone he can't outright bully into his way of thinking.

I'm in line with most of the critical mass in thinking that this is promising, but we're all going to have to wait and see if it's actually brilliant.

In S02 they are certainly playing at being more ambiguous with the setting where as S01 was more obviously the GTA…

Jaded as I may be, I can't say no to this cast…

Or Sarah Polley…

I was taking some summer courses to get a jump on the next semester. I think I heard something on the radio on the way home from class; I remember running into the house and seeing live footage on CNN. It still really upsets me to this day.

I'm aware she's appearing in the show. And it seems they've decided to develop her character more after this week's episode. And she danced! (sort of)

No joke. And by that I mean there wasn't a single joke in the movie! Okay, maybe ONE.

Bailey Buntain, no! Just adds insult to the injury of the Bunheads cancellation… (nice to see ABC keeping it in the family)

I was listening to the review of a young queer critic who was discussing the persecution of AIDS victims (most likely via a review of Philadelphia) and it occurred to me that if any millennials are trying to understand that height of panic and vitriol happening at the time, go look up Ryan White.

On something of a side note - I can't help but feel with all the dramatic and documentary LGBT themed films, in particular those directly dealing with the AIDS crisis, are the new Holocaust in Hollywood. And with that comes the creep of cynical backlash against these stories being told. Is anyone else wary of that or

I didn't realize Baldwin would have played Ben Weeks, which is just as well because Molina was fantastic. Granted, he's one of those actors who always turns in a worthy performance, but he was very good here.

I'm just young enough that it's hard to separate the anecdotal from documented incidents.

A friend of mine was refused treatment by his dentist - he wasn't even positive, it was just on the basis that he was a gay man.

That was my major hang-up with Julia Roberts - I thought she was fine, but during a number of her scenes I kept expecting "FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION" to flash across the edge of screen.

That scene was very effective, I thought, at least it go to me. Because if memory serves, that was the sort of thing that happened in certain places.

Funny, I was just about to pop that in the DVD player…

I wasn't part of the original chatter over this as I didn't realize how early the review went up so I hope you don't mind my joining in -

I said what it was right in that third paragraph -

Does chest clutching count?
