I just… ugh… all the exceptional sci-fi shows that struggled and/or were sent to an early grave. Yet Grimm consistently aims for the middle, but lives on because NBC in the 2010's.

The Family is the most insane waste of talent. Does Joan Allen have something horrible in her closet - tossing babies, punching cancer patients? Hollywood has never been a meritocracy but she deserves so much better.

I just picked up a lonely little used copy of Murder By Death from my local indie music store. I thought I was the only person outside my family who loves this gem of a film. Thrilled that it's being praised here.

I don't know if I'm completely sold on this, but Josh Holloway was amazing in the pilot. Nice refresher that he's not just a pretty, pretty face…

Oh dear…. is that a shark I see…

Am I alone in thinking Ben Stiller has aged really well?

Am I the only person who recalls The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human from some wee hour cable slot? (Yes, I know 'We Hate Movies' covered it)

But the adoption plot was such an important part of S01 of Smash!

"We've howdied, but we ain't shook yet"

Silver Surfer still perplexes me - I can't figure out what is more soulless and artificial: Jessica Alba's contacts or her acting

It's astounding - his CV is riddled with some of the worst projects ever committed to large and small screens.

Parks and Rec, Justified, now Mad Men - these heavy goodbyes really weigh on a TV Clubber…

Here I thought my DVR just up and crapped out on me this weekend, but with the return of 'The Following' perhaps I should consider it a suicide

In a certain way, all of NewsRadio was painful to watch after Phil Hartman's death. The Oscars reminded me that I'm still sad about Robin Williams, only for me to then realize I still feel deeply sad about Hartman. I can even remember almost everything about that day.

Lemony-fresh victory!

Pfbt! As if the Oscar production team gives a pittance about the Independent Spirit Awards - these are the people that made Smash!

So many years it's the same story - someone gets picked who has the potential to bring some edge to the proceedings and make the telecast "hip"… and then the whole thing gets sanitized for a mass audience and it's a big miss.

If the briefcase bit hadn't been flogged to death throughout the ceremony, I think the end bit would have landed better. It was like the sort of thing he would do at the Tony's but the rhythm was all off.

Oh, and the payoff for the NPH Birdman bit being Miles Teller on drums…

Fav moments (in an otherwise dull throwback ceremony):
