I don't like to be one of those "Oh I can't be bothered to watch news, it's like, such a total downer" twits, but christ - the past few weekends have been nothing but one depressing story after the next.

…which I'm sure will not be mishandled in any way…

Not to go immediately cynical (I still can't even process this news - so unexpected), but Glee has been so shit at handling The Big Issues in their fictional universe, I can't imagine how they'll deal with a real world tragedy.

I'd like to look back fondly on those early Friends episodes, but those last few seasons forever tarnished the show for me.

I love how random the US references came across ("You're Americans, you've got talent").

It felt like it was practically the entire cast!

Lesson learned from 2013 TV: the more ambivalent I am watching the promos for a show, the better the chances I'm going to stumble onto something interesting that I'm really going to love (see also Rectify, The Americans, and perhaps also The Bridge).

So many great informative docs out there discussing issues that people need to know (especially since the news media can't be bothered), but so often it leaves one frustrated and heart broken.

I'm excited for this at the very least in my hope that it will give otaku a break from pissing and moaning about The Hunger Games so they can instead bitch about Del Toro "ripping off"  EVA/every other mech anime.

Maybe it's a good thing that a lot of geeks are underachievers and not making vast amounts of money.  $30,000 Iron Throne replicas suggest fangirls/boys and money don't mix…

I have been innundated with ads for USA's Summer Camp and I was really confused when I first heard this show mentioned as being a dramedy and not a reality show. Did someone at NBC-Universal issue a camp show mandate?
