WENHAM!
I wondered if anyone else was having problems.
Mwah-hahaha, I spent all weekend bathing in the tears of heartbroken SU fans.
How would you cover that exactly? And I'm not being a snob here, I'm asking.
It shows how deeply all that Cold War bullshit is still engrained in the American psyche that audiences will root for all manner of killers, sociopaths, and all-around destructive arseholes - but Soviets, that's just a step too far!
I find that the key difference between good/great and mediocre/poor television - which usually (but not always - The Killing) breaks down as networks vs cable - is how much faith a show is willing to put in its audience. Does the show trust that we as an audience will follow patiently while it slowly assembles all the…
I guess this speaks volumes about me, but as creepy as the lyrics for "Lullaby" may be, I've always thought it was a very sensual song. It's just so… slinky…
It was quite the sparse Sunday night last night - Mad Men scared 'em all away!
I'm keen to see what Hayes can do with a nightly show. I thought his first week was a good start. At worst, he's a pleasant lead in for Maddow.
I need to take a moment to mourn the loss of Current's Vanguard series. Really outstanding.
I said it on earlier this week, I'm saying it now - the writer's room for Smash is just a bunch of eleven year old girls and one or two token queens old enough to know who Liza Minnelli is, no?
I try to be very pointed in expressing my disgust at the character of Karen and the creators fangirl worship of McPhee that's so badly warped everything about this show, not McPhee herself.
@avclub-13d7df3c17502af69aafccc758195f96:disqus - Yes, but didn't Derek only wind up with Ivy because she was the horrible tramp who would do anything for the part, while the virtuous muse Karen was too pure and righteous for that sort of slutty behaviour?
But Todd… you gave up Glee, why would you come back…?
I smiled when I saw Blue Valentine was shot in Clarks Summit, PA - as our beloved first stop on any/all road trips south on I-81, I only know the commercial strip right off of the highway.
I find that the only to attempt to enjoy an episode of Grimm is to enter with extremely lowered expectations. Which isn't to say the show should be critic proof, or that anything in the review was off-base, it's just my coping mechanism for each bad idea and wasted opportunity. Considering this show is a passionless…
Since coming back from hiatus, the show has been doing a lot of house cleaning. I think it's to their credit that they've solidified "Team Grimm," made Reynard's Royal status known to Nick, and mopped up some of the Juliette débâcle before jumping back in with the Big Bad.
I think I actually squealed when Bud turned around.
Two new episodes of Smash this week? My optic nerves can't take the strain of all the eye-rolling!
