Hurrah for second opinions week. Nice to mix things up a bit.

So CBS started littering their commercial breaks with spots for Golden Boy. Do they know you can make shows that aren't crime shows? Do we need to have an intervention?
It's been ages since MacLachlan has been used well (with the exception of Portlandia, of course). I'd like to see him back again since this show can play to his weird side without making him into a buffoon.
I always worry when I'm enjoying an episode this much that it's just hitting the right buttons for me and not really working on the whole. I'm glad to see I'm not alone here. Some great character work, made some subtle movements to lay groundwork for future developments, there was so much to like. And some really…
Yes, an even more excellent point.
Sidebar - how is John Cameron Mitchell only just now appearing in this show? He's so perfectly suited for this!
Thanks for reminding me why I've taken an extended break from anime…
Nicely written intro. The brilliance of this show is that it jabs at that part of you that recognizes a bit of yourself in these characters even if you're working hard to distance yourself from them.
There's a substantial difference between starting at the very bottom, out on your own in a big city, toughing it out gig after gig in run down clubs until you get your break versus having a parent who is determined (perhaps even more than the performer) to make their child into a star. I'm not saying Knowles is equal…
You bey be right, you bey be crazy…
I don't, but she seems to be an endless source of worship for a number of gay millennials (pick any episode of 1 Girl 5 Gays for an example).
I assume O’Reilly’s book doesn't cotton to the theory that Lincoln was gay…
Actually being a National Geographic - er, excuse me - NatGeo production is what initially soured me on this. I've pretty much lost all faith in their brand.
I wish the phrase "Invasion’s endgame" didn't wind up landing so heavily on the END part.
I miss the days when the chosen divas who became Gay Icons were women who scrapped and fought their way to the top, as opposed to being pruned and pushed by their parents and/or the Disney Channel.
BBC America is running the original House of Cards series today! This almost makes up for their terrible movie choices…
How is that possible?
As a Bryan Fuller project, isn't the poor thing automatically doomed?
I'm behind! (please don't hurt me). But I just caught up on Girls so today can be Enlightened's catch-up day.
Actually I'm kind of through chastising anyone of whatever sex/gender for their appearance. It's the one thing they aren't responsible for (unless one put themselves through plastic surgery to look ridiculous).
