Lorne Michaels aside, I am all for a John Mulaney project.
Ken Finkleman's The Newsroom is great if you dig dark, dry comedy. Not all but most seasons are available on Netflix.
Huzzah! What a perfect excuse to watch this series again.
I never understood that… I'd much rather a handsome actor be dating men then bimbo starlets and models…
One Shonda Rhimes show down…
Speaking of - I've seen CB!B! and Maron in the latest round of IFC promos, but is there any word on Bunk coming back?
I was hoping this would be better, especially after one critic proposed that this might be the thing that would finally encourage the US networks to try shorter-run, one shot series. Ho-hum, oh well…
In the bizarre reality in which this troll chooses to dwell, yes.
I disagree - along with the requirement that all serial killers must be charismatic super-geniuses post-Silence of the Lambs, animal cruelty has become a quick short-cut to manipulate audiences in many a variety of psycho-catching stories. He may not go after Obama as much as he ought to, but he's certainly goes after other Democrats on a regular basis.
I feel like there must be someone who leans conservative who still managed to be a decent satirist, but I suppose my straining to come up with a single name ought to be enough of an indicator.
I'd like to second or third the idea that Stewart and TDS are presenting a solution by encouraging people to be informed, question the talking points, and call journalists out for not doing their jobs.
Y'know, I could tolerate his right-wing turn* were it not for his ever more vigilant need to hold himself up as the Smartest Guy in the Room. The ever increasing complexity of vocabulary and obscurity of references come across less as a man who is actually fluent in those concepts and ideas and more like a prick who…
In my experience the movie(s) and the series share the same fanbase, and both are pretty obscure for mainstream audiences.
I wouldn't say she's aged well, but then I never cared for her so I'm not a fair judge.
