We can argue over order, but one thing this list got absolutely correct: No inclusion of Titanic. Fucking AFI popular revisionist bullshit…

The cinema going experience makes all the difference. I watched plenty of classic movies on dedicated cable stations, but I didn't really see Lawrence of Arabia until I saw it on a big screen (thank christ my University has a wonderful cinema program). And not just dramas and thrillers - Casablanca and Some Like It Hot

I absolutely agree with you, but I find I run into a problem in that so many of these films have been discussed, analyzed, and dissected that I can't have a genuine reaction. After watching both documentary series on 70's cinema, I decided it was time I sat down to actually watch a number of these films in their

So happy that made the list - I watched it over and over again. It was silly and punny, but it didn't seem to talk down to the kids watching.

I remember an English teacher assigning us a paper to write a scene following the events of the play, an epilogue of sorts. I remember writing it from the perspective that the Kid was guilty, but his actions were a reaction to an abusive father. Not highly imaginative, but I wonder how many of my classmates chose to

I'm not against the culling of invasive species that decimate ecosystems, but doing so in a gleeful and needlessly cruel way is still distasteful.

I thought the movie worked really well, although it helped that I was in the mood to see something ridiculous at the time. I'll also note that my friend, a warm-blooded heterosexual male, enjoyed the film much more than I.

It's just a shame that such a significant number of people are incapable of "pointing out similarities" without "summarily dismissing a work other people like altogether because it draws on similar themes as a different work, in spite of the latter hardly being the first to use such themes."
