You're very right about Ray. I hope we get to see him stick up for Mick, or show his loyalty in some way, next episode.

Woah, chill.
But is the character? I'm sure the reviewer wasn't aware of that about Miller, but it might not matter if the character is supposed to be white.
*raises hand*
No, because non-Chinese people don't make up a significant part of the country's population. People asking for diversity in casting want the US (or whatever country the content is from/takes place in) population to be represented, and that population contains a large amount of POC. It's just common sense.
How is this a "WTF" thing? XD You can disagree that diversity is relevant, but there's hardly reason to be upset at people who think it is.
No, God knows you don't review art based on how it executes its ideas!
No one is talking about the actors though.
I made the mistake of doing a Google image search on Japan's invasion of China once in high school… That was not a good idea.
That's a frightening and depressing description. I definitely agree that's not the image we saw in the episode.
I think he'll come back somehow. Mostly because the showrunners just have to know that he's the most fun character on the team. Right? The writing for the character seems to suggest an awareness of this anyway.
Right?? I did some googling after the episode, and he seems to have been okay-looking in his younger years, and in one picture looks quite a lot like the actor here - but not as hot.
But the character is white, isn't he?
It's interesting to see Mick go back to "the other side" practically because of how no one was trusting him on "the right side"… But I also hope he's secretly still planning on doing the right thing, because I like him as a part of the group. It would also be neat to see him go against everyone's expectations and both…
Isn't that misunderstanding involved in The Da Vinci Code as well? It was a long time since I read it, but it seems like the type of re-imagining of history the book is full of.
Very cute Tolkien indeed!
I pronounce it Toll-kee-en. The Swedish way, I guess. The way it's pronounced in this episode was really confusing to me.
And Emma might be one of her best books. Though I've only read three of her novels and watched adaptations of some of the rest, so that opinion isn't very well researched.
That is indeed cool. Also: I miss video stores. :(
