I used to be Snow White...but I drifted.

Well OK, sure, but I don’t think she cares if you care or not. I am pretty sure if there was a movie based on your life that positions you as doing some pretty awful things (especially if you deny you did these things, whether you actually did them or not) you probably would feel the need to comment on it. Also there

Right? They literally overwhelm your body. I can barely think straight when I’m having one. I’ve been in the middle of consultations with patients and have struggled to keep my demeanor smooth (although I’ve had several people comment about my face turning beet red). And let’s not even speak of how I haven’t slept in

A close friend of mine - an absolutely lovely, kind, funny person - died unexpectedly a few years ago at only age 45. That evening I got together with mutual friends so we could support one another in our shock and grief. One friend, through her tears, raised her face to the sky and exclaimed “And Ted NUGENT is still

This is ridiculous but predictable. Unfortunate that, it’s almost 2020, and people can’t dress however they want in terms of “how girly” or “how manly”.

I’ve always been astounded by the fact that some people devote their lives, careers and money to deny a group of people their rights. Why?

Since when do politicians of the conservative ilk give a damn about protecting women (born that way or otherwise)? We have been out here protecting ourselves from rapists and violent misogynists without the help of “sex-based protections under the law” for all these years, we will be fine when the trans women join our

“Sex-based discrimination laws will offer no protection if trans women are treated as women” lol what? Are these grown adults seriously imagining that trans women get some sort of career E-Z Pass when they come out? That bosses will only hire or promote trans women and exclude cis ones, out of some sort of...unspoken

“Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.” <——Should have been ratified decades ago.

It’s like when the anti-choicers say “what if a woman wants an abortion the day before her baby is due???” It’s just taking the most extreme, fringe issue and bringing it to the forefront as a way to structure the entire argument around a false dilemma.

And the thing that needs to be harped on whenever a SCOTUS article comes up - Trump, in three years, has been able to appoint two SCOTUS justices.

TERFs have been working hard at teaming up with far-right assheads in order to mess with trans folks, so it’s no surprise they keep getting mistaken for being far-right assheads.

Are TERFs the dumbest group of people on the planet?

The sports argument gets me every time. Because it is always delivered with infuriating smugness by transphobes. It’s the equivalent of the “someone who is pro-choice has clearly never held a baby. Hur hur.” knuckledragging sentiment. It’s also a huge pain in the ass because the response is not a simple soundbite, but

Yeah that’s the crazy part about all of this... if the SCOTUS rules against her, it essentially allows cis women to be fired for being “insufficiently feminine”, i.e. butch. So the radfems who claim to be so critical of gender and constantly whine that trans people are “reifying gender” would effectively be

[...] every woman in the United States may then also be forced to conform to an employer’s subjective, stereotyped idea of how a woman should look at work if she wants to keep her job.

This shit gives me heartburn. The case law is exceedingly clear. The precedent for gender stereotyping = sex discrimination is miles thick and decades old - Price Waterhouse was decided 30 years ago. Discrimination against trans workers for being trans falls *exactly* under what Price Waterhouse says is unlawful sex

I dislike how it is 2019 and we’re still arguing what should and shouldn’t be a “protected class”.

Everybody. Everybody should be protected for discrimination for any reason.

It’s not even about defining man/woman/ect.

I've met plenty of right-wing bigots here in Pennsyltucky who think trans people are disgusting and shouldn't be seen in public. Their words. And Trump supporters wonder why I'm so disgusted by THEM.

Wat should probably be clarified is that none of these cases is arguing sexual orientation or gender identity are themselves protected classes like race and sex are. They probably should be but the Court has been resistant to adding any categories for decades, and with the current makeup all but certainly would never

The efforts to read sexual orientation into Title VII has long been a bit tortured, but it seems like interpreting “sex” as including transpersons is much more straightforward. I have some hope that the court will read Title VII this way, even with a conservative majority.
