This looks great. I imagine if I had something like this in my youth I would have gone nuts to try everything in the list. Well done!

Damn, wish I knew about the vendor tokens, been spending them like they were going out of style! (currently, I’m at 248). Guess I’ll just have to keep on grinding for more...

I know what I’m asking for for Christmas!

Congrats for pulling this off. Amazing list of games, and I loved the concept of first-time plays live on Twitch. No pressure, right?

Hoping to see this become a semi-regular recurring event for Kotaku.

Probably in a very similar situation as you, Kirk. Pre-ordered for PS4 with at least two of my old raid buddies counting down days til launch. Then, will purchase again - hopefully discounted somehow! - for PC, once that releases.

My big concern with PC build is having none of my core group to play with. As long as I

Personally played both PvE stages and strike with Hunter, and I dig the new Arcstrider super! I dubbed it “Donatello’s revenge”

I’m having a hard time putting down Final Fantasy Adventure (aka Seiken Densetsu) from the recent Seiken Densetsu collection. It’s the only Game Boy game I know of for the system, but it holds up surprisingly well, even in tv mode.

Berzerk for Atari 2600

New Blast Corps-esque game from Yooka-Laylee devs for Switch! Makes sense to me!

Why not try before you buy? Square Enix recently updated the trial period for basically unlimited access for one player character up to Level 35.. which I would describe as extremely generous — you could play casually for a month or two, see if it’s your cup of tea..

In my own experience, I got one for Christmas in ‘91, and by then several of my friends already had one. Gave me plenty of opportunities for game trades, and multiplayer games, mostly Tetris.

Great story, never realized he was just a beloved placeholder. Not so sure if the Game Boy was a fledgling system when this released in ‘92 — from my recollection the system was doing quite well and there were a ton of games by then.

Did you happen to pick up a bag or three while you were at the store investigating?

Invulnerable - not sure if this was in a particular game, but perhaps Jeff Rovin’s How To Win At Nintendo Games..?

Thanks for the healthy dose of Brit rock to start my Friday morning - feeling pumped and ready for the day. First stop on today’s journey: Unity, to work on my game project, with an eye towards having a build I can pop into my Switch as soon as support becomes available. Seems like they’ll be talking about Unity 2017

I remember feeling rather happy when I street passed with then Kotaku Editor-in-chief Brian Crescente while riding the subway in Manhattan, which in my mind was my first celebrity street pass, but in the most innocent way — we were both presumably on our commutes to work.

Correct. Nothing changes as far as how Oculus and FB continue to promote the brand and products.

Did you happen to pre-order one in Kobe? Seems like it was almost no line at all in the more suburban areas.

Did anyone from Nintendo mention when they will talk about Virtual Console / Classics for Switch? I fuzzily recall something said to the effect they’ll discuss further prior to launch, but can’t remember where I read that.

Yes! Was jamming out to this waiting for the presentation to start. Some excellent beats got us all pumped up for the main event.
