Vacation / family - coming over for a couple of weeks to travel around, see family, visit friends, etc. I was only thinking of selling a few games (5-6?) so not too much dead weight. Staying in Tokyo for the first few days of the trip, and if possible would dump them in Akiba. If not there, I'll be in and out of

HP200's would give you a max +1 HP / dose after hitting 200 HP. I'd buy a bunch of them to avoid buying more costly HP400 and HP600's; the only downside was you could hold maybe 10 or 12 total item slots so you could only buy a handful at a time, dose up, and purchase more. What a concept though!

Makes sense. Would be a fun experiment to check their value at GameStop prior to departure just to see how they compare. Of course, the catch is I'll have to dump them over there anyway since I wouldn't want to bring them back with me.

Richard (and anyone else here living in Japan) — do you have any experience with selling used US games in Japan? Heading over to Japan in November and was thinking of bringing some US titles to sell over there. I don't think Book-off / Tsutaya would want them but figured I might find a dedicated used game shop that

Just curious, why did you pick up FF6 and Chrono Trigger if you don't read Japanese?

First issue was Issue 20 - Mega Man III, came with a free copy of Dragon Warrior for NES with that uber-handy detailed handbook, maps, everything. $15? What a steal!

Loved this issue! The ONLY weird part I thought was that they only listed 2 recommended spells per level and never really went into any real depth as to how the spells really worked. Always found it a tad wonky that they wouldn't recommend spells like HARM, BANE, etc. that in my experience were quite handy.

It's such a shame they couldn't address the dual-stick issue now. I'm still a fan of my 3DS, but I really feel like this lack of feature is the deal buster on me swapping out my 3DS for the XL. Moreover, its very likely that this time next year, the upcoming dual-stick 3DS (DS3DS?) and its XL cohort will be the talk

Really hoping Bravely Default makes it here, considering I can't play the import due to regional lockout. Also hoping / expecting them to rename it for the Western release.

"Grinding for levels is unnecessary."

"...plan to buy an RV and drive to the southwest"...

I prefer "Merickans".

Thank you much! I've never played the English translation of this (I too have a Japanese cart but never made it too far). But after watching this, its now next on my list. Looks great!

Agreed. Also missing are Kotaku East features - feels like they've become fewer and more far between than ever.

Why was this posted here so late?

best lolz:

its a great shop, but also uber taxed IMO. one of those places you might go for an impulse buy, esp. if visiting the city, but for the most part you'd be better off picking it up online. best deal i ever got there was the JP release of Super Monkey Ball for GC for $10.

Another fun work grind trick was to do the Ice Cave > Get the Airship > Castle of Ordeals > class change BEFORE the Gurgu Volcano. Extra spells / stat boosts ftw!

Agreed, there was some great tracks in there! Personally, I enjoyed the game - it reunited me with a friend I hadn't seen in a year (he brought it as a gift), and well, it was classic hack and slash for us, all over again...

just wait til your in your 30s with disposable income! you'll end up following the industry more than you play games :/
