The only thing the Republicans care more about than tax cuts is that they are the ones that get to sit in power and make decisions. They will never do anything without the goals being (1) get as much power as possible, and (2) fuck over the people so the rich can have more. There is no (3).

The only thing that surprises me anymore is that more people aren’t rioting in the streets. More cops are not being shot. At some point it seems like it’s justified. Treat people like they are lower than dirt and you have no space to complain if they respond in kind.

If they are allowed to gerrymander as they see fit, it seems very unlikely to help. They would just draw the lines to pack more heavily democratic areas into those districts, which would make it easier to keep the surrounding districts red.
