I’m sure this will be a really well-made game, but I can’t think of a concept more boring for me. It’s all a personal thing, for sure, I’ll admit. But I just don’t find Captain America, the time period, the color palette, or the concept of Hydra interesting. This definitely is not the game for me based on this trailer.

I’m not that bothered by it. At this point it feels like any time some Kotaku Staffers rage over one of FFVII Rebirth’s areas, minigames or mechanics, it really just boils down to them being bad at it. I’m just gonna chalk this off as “I suck at navigating through this area, therefore I must hate it and so must you

“For starters, it has the worst music of any of the regions I’ve visited so far.”

Right? I wanted to immediately shout a my computer “SARK!!!”

Leaving your plot unresolved until the next installment is in fact what a cliffhanger is.

Hey art dept! You have a few weeks to crank out a new ending!

In his defence, I massively enjoyed the movie right up until just before the lack of an end, then left the cinema with a scowl on my face, swearing under my breath like Muttley.

I don’t blame people for not liking that ending; it was not promoted as something that was going to lead immediately into another sequel, and the theatre I saw it in turned on it rapidly (if not with any real hostility) at the end there. That said, I doubt it’s anything anyone’s going to be bothered about after the

Is no one going to talk about the fact that one of the final bosses of the first game is a skater boy wielding two uzis that you fight in an Atlantean skate park?

I think you might have somewhat misread every single word in the entire review.

The epic love story between Zell and the cafeteria hot dogs, is just as memorable if not more so.

As someone who was around to experience both FFVII and FVIII at launch — and was among the group that thought FFVII was one of the best games I’d ever played up to that point — I didn’t get the FVIII hate at all. Did I think it was slightly inferior to VII? Sure. But I still thought it was an incredible game.

I literally have the week booked off from work from March 4th to 10th so I can play xD

If people didn’t figure out that the train was off the rails by the halfway point, I don’t know what to tell you.

Remake was a sequel as well... They’re very definitely sequels.

The Switch is a handheld. Almost EVERY handheld Nintendo produces sells Switch numbers, so it’s not an outlier or game changer. Nintendo has never pretended to put their handhelds in competition with home consoles and has never discussed their handhelds, or even the Switch, in those terms.

I just raged so hard.

Corny.

“and threw the game away out of spite”....

Rightttt.

Not every gamer places heavy value on exploration. There are plenty of games like visual novels where you can literally just mash one button for the entire game to get through it, sometimes pressing “up” or “down” to make a couple of choices.
