Typically one of the biggest benefits of leasing a car is that the lease term falls within the warranty term. Leases are typically 2-4 years at most. Most warranties now a days are at least 3 years bumper to bumper and most of the time they are 4+ years. So that wouldn't be a realistic issue....

I'm not sure if it is easier or not. I know there has to be an approval process to make sure the person taking over the lease is qualified, and the tricky part is that if you have really good credit and thus you got a really good rate on your lease, the person taking over your lease has to have equally good credit

There is also the possibility of having the lease taken over by someone else. There is always someone out there looking for a lease and it could be very easy to transfer the lease to an approved buyer.

I think that the benefit of having a class 8 truck comes from when there are guys who have a CDL and tow more than 26K GCVW.

I watched the whole video.....And the guy has some good points but he makes some incorrect statements too. My favorite "Electric cars have infinite torque".

Now playing

I thought they already created this Mega car...Its the one:1.

Well you may be right about the study, i'm not sure, but the S4 baseline is like 40K and easily get up to 60K fully loaded. It competes with the 335/435 and not the M3/M4 because it doesn't have the power to match and Audi left room for the RS4 to compete with the M cars. We just don't happen to get the RS4 here.

Why did they steal the "Black Optic" package wheels from the 2015 Audi A4/S4/A5/S5?

When you say "us" do you mean jalopnik readers? Or Americans? Because i'm pretty sure new car sales are up in general across the board. And i don't think that the jalopnik community makes a very big contribution either way to any of these numbers.

Not sure how i feel about this move. One one hand you look at the "half ton" truck segment and sure there are power wars but the bigger war is for fuel economy. So its for that reason alone i would bet Ford decided to go Eco Boost for the new Raptor. The big horse power wars are happening in the HD truck segment.

I agree most of the time. Leasing to own typically costs more in the end. And in this situation it will be basically cost about the same for me to do it this way as it would have been to finance it outright. I believe that because i was leasing i was able to negotiate a much lower sale price than if I were

Sorry. I didn't mean take the residual and put it towards another car. I mean i would take the equity or the difference in the residual and the current day market value and put it towards another car. My residual is 31 grand, and most of the 3 year old S4's with all my options and manual transmission i have seen

How would you know if my numbers are wrong? I'm not making them up. Everything is in a contract. I did my research. You can't say things like "Never" when talking about a lease. Too many variables to make it such a cut and dry answer.

Yes. I am aware that I am spending more leasing a new car vs buying a used car. As i stated. Yes you are correct as well in that I am going to be paying for the lease over a longer period, but the amount i'm paying isn't more than if i financed the same car instead of leasing at first and then buying out.

Thank you. It was / is a big purchase. And I knew exactly what I wanted going in and what I could afford so i didn't mind taking the time to research the best option. People who aren't informed when buying a car are just asking to get screwed in my opinion.

Kinja failed and i double posted

Sorry to make it look like i'm "picking" on you but I consider myself a car enthusiast and I enjoy driving enthusiastically. I am currently in a lease because after doing all the numbers It was cheaper for me to lease a brand new car right now with the intent of buying it at the end of the term because the residual

Its not always this simple. Different cars have different leases. Some will offer lower monthly payments but higher residuals. Some the opposite. Some cars depreciate less than others. Its not a cut and dry "Leasing is a good or bad idea" scenario.

I think this is a great article and I also think that the article Tavarish wrote yesterday has valid points. There is no "one size fits all" opinion for if leasing is good or bad. It depends on the SPECIFIC car, owner, end goal, financial situation, etc. I currently am leasing a 2014 S4 and I spent about 10 months

I would have been very intrigued if that car was for sale under 8 grand.....
