Oh absolutely. I'd say the same about "N.Y. State of Mind," "Life's a Bitch," and "The World is Yours" off Illmatic.

I enjoy having conversations about Downton Abbey with stupid people who are somehow tricked by PBS into thinking that it is both a sophisticated drama and not a massive waste of time.

Maybe Vince will finally get to reprise his role as Aquaman.

That's a pretty good point. Though I feel like fifteen years later (especially given the success of Thor) they'd probably have better luck.

And inherently lower stakes.

Kind of off topic but I'm surprised there have been so few attempts to adapt the Norse sagas in Hollywood. They're unbelievably epic (in the literal sense of the word) and, obviously, public domain.

Ahhhh, reading this made me want to rewatch Spartacus so badly. You're right: Hannah and Lawless are fantastic together and their relationship is definitely one of the hallmarks of the show. The same can be said about both Doctore and Asher. They're both very compelling characters and they only improve as the series

I have a huge crush on Greta Gerwig. She's a joy and I'm glad she's getting serious work.

That's pretty interesting that you liked it so much. I always assumed that one needed to be a member of the Tribe to really appreciate A Serious Man, since so many of my gentile friends who are otherwise huge fans of the Coen brothers hated it.

I think people tend to give it a break because overall it's a very strong first season compared to most of the other genre series of that era, especially Buffy.

It was a nice change of pace from his usual "wild-eyed-insane-lunatic" thing!

On Friday, watched a few episodes of Firefly, including the god-awful "Safe," which is by far my least favorite episode. It's about as subtle as being smacked in the face with a cinderblock.

It's so mindbogglingly terrible. There's also this gem:

WHO KNEW HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVES LIKED MONEY SO MUCH

I'm going to celebrate by sewing someone's asshole shut and keep feeding them, and feeding them, and feeding them, and feeding them.

This show was called Tru Calling ten years ago.
