When I was a kid, we...wait for it...actually went OUTSIDE to play. That meant roller skating, riding bikes, building forts and ramps etc. There was a good chance we’d come back in for dinner with bruises and scrapes/cuts. I was always told that HP helped to lift dirt out of the wound and once the fizzing was done it

The Fly Lady is a super supportive site that has helped me so many times in the past. Shining my stainless steel sink with Bar Keeper’s Friend has helped motivate me more times than I can count.

2005 I bought my first house, which just happened to be a duplex. It was a HUD home, so there was a TON of stuff that needed to be fixed or replaced. Between my DIY boyfriend, his HVAC Dad and their electrician cousin we were able to make all the repairs for free or by ourselves. My parents helped pay for a new roof.

Yup...the key here is to use freezer bags, as those are going to be thicker than normal ones. I’ve flipped them inside out and placed them on the top rack of my dishwasher towards the outside edges.

This would also be a great hack to organize blankets with sheets and pillow cases, especially if you have different size beds throughout your house. If someone has an accident that requires them to change their sheets, you simply hand them their designated pillow case.

For me, the key is to know which dishes can be made ahead of time and reheated and which ones do not do well. Mashed potatoes for instant heat up just fine in the microwave or oven, as do steamed veggies. Medium rare steak with pan gravy.....not so much. Make what you can reheat easily the day before, and bring those

This sounds pretty amazing! I love basmati because it’s nutty, and I like the individual rice grains.

7Zip has been installed on all my computers for years. It’s not fancy or has a pretty UI, but it’s incredibly useful and fast.

I adopted a capsule wardrobe about 6 years ago, and it’s been a life (and money) saver. Literally. I rearranged my closet so that everything was inside out. At the end of a year, I gave away everything that wasn’t right side out.

NSDR sounds interesting. I’m going to try this for sure! Let us know if you have any recommended videos or MP3s that have worked for you.

I suffer from nocturnal panic attacks. Soon after I fall asleep I wake up trembling. So far, only Gabapentin or kratom seem to help stop it from happening in the first place. I’ve seen doctor after doctor and had test after test to see if it’s physical with no answers in the last 10 years. The 4-7-8 breathing

Is there a website that can you plug your car into that can tell you hard or soft? How often do I have to do this when I live in Central Texas?

I’m not a baker my any stretch of the imagination but when brownie or cupcake mixes go on sale I’ll grab a package or two. Making a batch and freezing for later is easy. Since it’s only two of us, we’ll have some on hand when we are in the mood for something sweet.

With menu prices at an all time high AND these new bullshit “convenience” fees they are charging customers paying with credit cards, it’s now more important than ever to make sure your dining dollars are worth it. Thank you Stephen! This has been IMO one of the better life hacks lifehackers has written about in a

I have a smartphone but I literally only use it when I need Google Maps. I can make/receive calls directly from my desktop. I do like the option to use it as a hotspot for my computer if the power goes out.

We have no intention of traveling anywhere that requires a passport anytime soon but are there advantages to having one as well as a state issued ID?

Time out in the corner. Soap or vinegar on the tongue. Writing out “I will not....” 50 times. A good ol fashion spanking. These things didn’t happen often to me as a kid but my Mom was very, very consistent. I knew the consequence of my actions and learned quickly NOT to talk back, throw a fit, scream or say potty

If you like to donate to various causes, consider using a different card for each. $5-$15 each per month. Set up auto pay statement balance and that should keep them active enough to not lower your balance due to inactivity.

Thankfully, Dollar Trees around me sell most of these items. I’d like to add a bench scraper to this list though. Tons of uses outside the kitchen.

What about Yelp? I often find myself looking at reviews of a new restaurant or place of business prior to going and there’s usually a link to their site on the reviews page.
