This show is easily up in the Breaking Bad, Succession etc. tier of great TV shows, but it won’t ever be taken as seriously because it’s fantasy/science fiction.

John Romita's style is how I have always thought Marvel comics were supposed to look, even though none of them looked that way by the time I was reading comics. Every Spider-Man comic I ever bought as a kid, I thought Spidey looked all wrong, cos he didn't look the way Romita drew him. Absolute legend. 

He also wrote some kickass 90s Marvel Presents stories with Ghost Rider and Werewolf by Night...but the bigots aren’t ready for that conversation.

This movie, like the first, blew my fucking mind. For real. Even the most nitpicky fun-burglar would be hard pressed to find fault with Across. That said, I’m a Miguel O’Hara fanboy. He’s been my favorite Spider-Man since 2099 dropped wwwaayyy back in ‘92. I dunno.

...and considering how FREAKING GOOD Across the Spider-Verse is, I anticipate Beyond the Spider-Verse to straight-up shatter box office records next year due to the same dynamic.

Just got back, and this movie deserves all the good press it’s getting.  It crushed it.  Will definitely go down as one of the best sequels on best sequels list.

I think “superhero fatigue” only exists among film reviewers and other people who are professionally obligated to see every movie that comes out. Everyone else just goes to see whatever looks fun or interesting and ignores the rest.
