Same thing happened with tires; when the price of oil was 130 a barrel, prices for rubber (which gets squeezed out of oil somehow) went through the roof. When oil prices fell, rubber costs fell too... but not tires.  That’s why there’s a Belle Tire every 30 feet all of the sudden, it’s crazy lucrative to sell tires.
