Yeah, Hardy claiming his southernness and religion as evidence against him being an abuser was rich. Your actions seem super Christian, dude. And, as we all know, if there is any group of people that are completely free from abuse, it’s strict religious families.

In this exchange, you can see just how easy it is for someone like Hardy to get away with domestic abuse. All you have to do is seem NICE, and be personable, and look somewhat even halfway chastened, and the Adam Schefters of the world will believe you, just because you shook their hand.

Not to mention that part of Hardy’s explanation was that domestic abuse just basically doesn’t occur in the south.
