Just an update on MSNBC: I know you have shows you watch at night, and I know it's now 11:00 PM back East, but I thought I'd give you a "heads up," in case you're not aware, that Chris Matthews is doing a special, live, Hardball, right now. It's not a repeat of his 4:00 PM show. It's a new one. And he's opening with

When I was young, my mom told me all about the writing of the Japanese constitution, and explained that the constitution expanded fundamental rights for Japanese women: Marriage would result only from the consent of both parties; husband and wife would have equal rights; and laws regarding property rights,

Ahhhhhhh …. Now I see!

Yeah, in "real life," I learned, quite a while back, to recognize — and heed — red flags when I see 'em. I no longer will dismiss warning signs. It's uncomfortable to have to confront that sort of thing, particularly in someone you've known for a long time, but moving forward in a relationship with someone who has

I didn't mean to imply that she might be bitter. Rather, I feared that she might have felt crestfallen, and hurt, that there was so much criticism of her when she edged out Wieber for the AA spot in 2012.

Show her this:

I don't know if you'll see this comment or not, but I have to say, it sure was nice to see Aly Raisman do so well tonight, wasn't it? Watching her in the floor exercise event, I just couldn't help but notice that she has a grace about her that a lot of the other girls don't have …. the grace of a dancer, very

No shit? Jeeze, that's terrible. I've never heard that before, but, yeah …. it's gonna be hard to look at him the same way from here on out. Good grief.

Just a night or two ago, here on WOT, I got the impression that one poster — who is interested in, and has some knowledge of, gymnastics — will be posting her thoughts on the gymnastics competition. Her Disqus user name is Violetta Glass, so you might want to keep an eye on the nightly WOT pages for her thoughts, if

Yeah, I don't think that poster is depressed, or a chronic drinker, or anything else. And I don't think he's actually looking for sympathy. What I think he's doing is baiting the WOT posters, yanking their (our) chains, to see if he can provoke a response. And when he does, I think it quenches some need for the kind

Re: SNL …. I, also, gave up on it long before Tina Fey came along, but when I heard how great she was, I would tune in, occasionally. I mostly know her from 30 Rock, her movies (Mean Girls, Date Night), and her Sarah Palin impression. Honestly, if she'd never done another damned thing, in her entire career, her Sarah

I was 21 when Jenner won the decathlon, and he was just about the biggest sports superstar in the country. Hell, the biggest star of any kind, sports or otherwise. The whole country was swept up in it, and he dominated media coverage for a long, long time. He was a genuine phenomenon.

I'm sorry the news you got from your contact wasn't good. Oof. I can only imagine that you must be beside yourself over this debacle. Well, maybe the company you're going to send it to will have better news. Sixty-five dollars seems pretty reasonable for them to have a look-see. Of course, if they tell you they can

Yeah, I suppose you're right. I know that some people are beyond help: sociopaths, psychopaths, people with personality disorders such as borderline, antisocial, narcissistic, etc. I know that those people have issues that typically are considered to be pretty much immutable, and perhaps TDE is one of those.

I went to a couple of Rams games, decades ago, when they were in So. Cal. and played at Anaheim Stadium. The games weren't all that enjoyable, though, because Anaheim Stadium is a baseball stadium, and it just doesn't lend itself to showcasing football to greatest advantage.

The world thanks you ….. Okay, I thank you.

Women's volleyball started today, with a win for the U.S.A. over Puerto Rico. I like to watch the volleyball games, both men's and women's.

Yes, I agree. I, also, don't think it's genuine.
