Okay …. this "Breaking News" note has little to do with anything in this thread. I just looked for one of your comments so I could tell you, in case you haven't already heard, that the Democratic convention just officially opened, with …. wait for it ….. a Christian hymn!!!!! They opened with a black choir singing

Yes! I really enjoyed the first season of Younger, but I got behind in S2 and am going to have to find it, somewhere, and watch it in it's entirety. Love Sutton Foster, love Miriam Shor, and I even really enjoyed the Duff gal in that show, something I guess I wasn't primed to do.

Yeah, I figured that the double left arrow / "less than" symbol was some sort of HTML. As I mentioned, above, I learned to use HTML to italicize, bold, and strike-through only a few weeks ago. Someone, here on AVC, asked another poster how it was done, and I happened to stumble across those posts, so I copied and

I adored Pushing Daisies, and was so disappointed when it was canceled.

Wow. I'm not the one who asked the question, but wow, I didn't know any of that! That's so interesting. I live in a town in which 99% of the street names are associated with Native Americans: tribe names, the names of individuals, reservation names, etc. When I get back from the store, I'm gonna have to check out that

Hmmmm … I haven't noticed multiple posts, but in the Disqus e-mails, one of your comments came through looking kind of screwy.

"…For anyone who is not white, Christian, male and American-born…."

Oh, yeah … I don't disagree with that. My focus was just on the fact that the convention starts tomorrow, and Bernie Sanders is set to speak tomorrow night, and all I could think was, "Aaarrrgghhh! Nooooooo!"

Precisely. They can only dream of the day they have ultimate authority to impose their will on anyone who gets out of line, and DT is their dream-come-true. It's the authoritarian personality type. Who knows why they are the way they are — authoritarian mother / father in the home? Some quirk of the brain? Who knows?

Wow. ^^^^ This. Exactly. Absolutely.

As I remarked, above, I know squat about art, but there were hints, within the clue, that I thought would give everyone at least a shot at a correct response.

I didn't know "Saint Anne," didn't even have a guess. Of course, I wasn't raised Catholic; I was raised in a relatively non-religious household, and, in adulthood, moved even further away from religion, so I think people who were raised Catholic have a natural advantage in the Saints category.

Sad.

Interesting. I find her charming, and frequently hilarious, in almost everything I've seen her in.

Yesterday, I heard, on MSNBC, that Kaine's opposing TPP was a pre-condition to the offer of the VP spot. Can't vouch for the veracity of that report, but that's what I heard.

Upvoted for your acquaintanceship with Ross. Actually, I had never heard of Magic: the Gathering until Friday night, have no idea what it might be.

I think you're right. I was stunned that two of them didn't know the correct response to that clue. I know squat about art, and even I knew it was "Girl with a Pearl Earring." Didn't even really have to think all that hard on it.

Oh …. probably.
