For the last several months, I've had a bit of an obsession with Santana's Woodstock performance of "Soul Sacrifice," and I watch it constantly, pretty much on a loop, on YouTube. It's wild.

I'm listening to it now, on YouTube. Sure takes me back, makes me misty. It really was the time of my life, and the music was such an enormous part of that. Enormous. The best pop music ever created, all day, every day. Music heaven.

Ooooh, I remember "Wonderful World, Beautiful People"! But I don't recall "Double Barrel." Must check YouTube for that.

Oh, yeah! "The Unicorn!" The Irish Rovers. Hey, I just googled it and found out that it was written by the great Shel Silverstein, he of the eternally fabulous "Put Another Log On The Fire." Hmmmm …. Who knew?

So I've got the convention on the TV, in the background; I can stand to listen to only so much of the nonsense. There was one bright spot, I suppose: In his speech tonight, Ted Cruz failed even to mention Donald Trump's name, let alone endorse him, and Cruz left the arena to an overwhelming chorus of boos. LOL.
