It is sneaky! To be fair, I had no idea the multiplier dealt with EXP *after* you earned it, so I didn’t fully utilize hotels and such until the end of the game. I’m so used to games where the bonus multipliers are after waking up, taking the item, etc. Sigh. Oh well.

With FFXV, you don’t level up normally. Your XP gets put in a bank of sorts and once you “rest,” whether at a hotel, camper, or whatever, it tallies up, and THEN you level up. What’s awesome is there is a hotel where if you spend 30,000 gil, you get 3x the experience. I did this last night, so instead of 80,000…

I was a bit confused by your usage of “No one” in the context of “No one is going to buy it...” Especially after you later say the sales will be terrible in the first few months (which implies SOMEONE will buy it before Christmas 2017/before 8-9 months).
