This reminds me of the Tata Nano, India´s ultra cheap `Peoples Car` which costs about 1750 euro in India. It also received a whopping 0 (zero) star rating in the Global NCAP crashtest in Januari 2014. Which was actually quite remakable, because the folks at Tata expected a 4 star euro NCAP rating.

Save your money and just buy a used RUF 993. You know you want it...

In Holland we have a yearly mandatory vehicle inspection, the so called APK. If your car doesn´t pass this inspection it's deemed road unworthy and you're basically fucked. The test is quite rigorous and it's really cheap (about 20/30 euro). All you need to do is take it to a state certified garage where a licensed

A truly captivating piece of writing, chapeau mr. Genis. Unbelievable how there can be such ´sound´ logic behind terrible acts of violence.

That´s crazy, obviously the Tesla is the safer car if you´d get hit in the side. But again, overall, the Tesla´s safety is pretty much the same as its competitors. Even compared to cars which are cheaper than the Model S. For example the 2014 C class, which is considered to be a class lower than the Tesla. Yet the C

I´ve just checked some of the ratings of random sedans with 5 star ratings. Make your own conclusion about the claim that the Tesla is ´safer´ than the competition. I randomly chose the 2014 Mercedes c class test, the 2012 Volvo V60 and the 2013 Lexus IS300h

As an engineer, I´ve learned that your own impressions can be deceiving and that cold numbers are everything. Here are the testscores of the 2014 Tesla model S, the 2012 Volvo V60, 2014 Mercedes C class and 2013 Lexus IS300h. Make your own conclusions...

That´s crazy. I actually learned driving in a 206 XR 1.1, and have nothing but fond memories of that car. Handled great for a 1.1 litre engine. Maybe the nostalgia clouded my memories.

Here you go, http://www.euroncap.com/results/chevro…. Apparently it has been on sale in Europe since 2011, but I´ve never seen one in the wild. It its a part of Chevrolets (together with the Cruze and Captiva) effort to gain some market share in the EU.

Exactly, cars are getting too safe. The euro NCAP scale ( don´t know about NHTSA's) definitely needs to be redone. Euro NCAP needs to be ´harsher´. The problem now is that almost all new cars automatically get a 5 star rating.

Following the NHTSA's five-star rating in every subcategory, Euro NCAP tests also confirm that the Tesla Model S is still pretty much the safest car money can buy.

Exactly. Although most of the 504´s were exported to Mauritania/Mali in the early nineties you occasionally still see a beaten 504 serving as a taxi. I think that´s really indicative of the great buildquality of these cars. Especially considering the often rough conditions in Africa.

Don´t think so. I don´t see the other badass terminator ( +little brat) he´s supposed to be chasing.

A post about Pininfarina, and nobody mentions imo the prettiest Peugeot of them all. The cinq cent quatre coupe. For shame, Jalopnik, for shame..

Yep it´s all manual glory (handschaltung)...an absolute beauty. And with just 190.000km still brand new. Those cars are rock solid, my uncle had the exact same one ( only in black) way back in the early nineties.

Obviously, the only correct answer is all the Soviet weaponry ever produced. Even when soviet equipment wasn´t supposed to be used for warfare. A good example is this T34 chassis equipped with a MiG engine used for clearing snow...
