On the gaming side I agree. 2080 performance, for the same price, with a generations fab lead and no RTX parts taking die space? That’s underwhelming.
I’m hoping it’s true that iOS12 was really meant to open up iOS within reason and make it a truly productive operating system, stuff as simple as being able to work off external hard drives directly on the iPad with USB C, but it was shelved for performance and stability and will come with 13.

Pretty big difference there. This way you’re never leaving the security shell of ChromeOS while still being able to run Linux apps, not dual booting.
They’re requiring processors with virtualization support to run this, that plus sharing the kernel makes it not so bad. Linux apps don’t seem any worse than Android apps for speed on it at any rate.

Intel no longer bundles any 15 watt chip with Iris Plus in this generation for some reason. My theory is that this “mystery” “budget” 13" Macbook is just the 13" pro sans Plus and sans Pro, maybe losing a few other things to get to a new price point (Thunderbolt, maybe).

Worth noting that the NN stuff only makes up for some of what the 8 Plus camera did, not all, since it misses the Stage and Stage Mono portrait modes. Cutout probably wasn’t precise enough.
Every time a phone leaks there’s always this undercurrent of it being a plant to throw people off and blow them away by setting lower expectations...But every single time, nah, it is what it is.
Hmm, Vysor. I’ll see if I can work it enough to get that going. The half screen that works flies off to a side every few seconds so it might be hard, I was thinking something like ADB commands from command prompt could get something going.
Is there anything useful I can do with an Android tablet with a cracked screen? Could I send commands from a PC to get it doing something useful, like a home security camera or something?
