Same, it was hard to remotely forgive him after that.

Or, you know, when he put that woman in a cheese grater, or all the dudes who just got in his way. But Hephaestus just had shit bad luck and was helpful anyways.

Gonna be honest, I found these abysmal, blades don’t seem as sharp as the big guys and the tight spacing leads to clogging fast. Might have better luck with their lower blade counts.

This year did seem overly aggressive, but I do think 2020 itself is good timing. 7nm in its mature yields phase (about when they sprang on 28 for the PS4), Navi, Zen+ or Zen 2, Nexgen memory. The next big gain after that won’t be till 2022+ for early 5nm production, so I don’t see either company wanting to give up

Hello and FaceID both beam IR at your face so dark is irrelevant, although the opposite, very bright sunlight, can sometimes confound FaceID (too much IR to see its own dots through I assume).

Yeah, Hello is why I mentioned phones, some say it’s even more reliable than FaceID (probably from the extra space afforded to laptops).

I wonder if this next refresh of the Macbook Pros will have something like it, or if that’ll have to wait to ARMbooks in 2020+.

Shrug. Face unlock also wasn’t new in concept but FaceID is (I think?) the only system out there with fair security, at least for phones. Just because a concept was done and abandoned, doesn’t mean they did it well, as evidenced by Samsung moving away from the hover gestures. As always I’ll wait to see if Apple can

Cautiously optimistic. It would let them decouple themselves from all of Intels blunders and delays, and support whatever they want when they want, i.e Intel not supporting LPDDR4 and limiting them to 16GB while Apple takes the shit for it.

Curious what becomes of their dGPU models, still AMD GPUs, or do they go whole

“Work faster! Work harder! Prove the haters wrong!”

This combo MCM part seems ripe for the 15" rMBP (there’s a 60W TDP variant), back a few years ago Apple was the one to ask for Iris Pro while letting Intel sell/use it anywhere else so maybe that’s what happened here. Going from 80GB/s to 180GB/s on VRAM will be nice.

It’s interesting to hear this is faster than the Series 1 Apple Watch with the dual core S1P, I expected it to be faster than the series 0 by a fair bit but get outclassed after.

Hmm this is more like it. I’d still really like Fitbit to partner with traditional watch makers so you can stay in the Fitbit social network while wearing a regular looking watch, that would be dope.

I’m kind of burned on them as a company though, every Charge/ChargeHR if used regularly in a sanctioned way will have

“but it’s not hard to talk on Slack and keep private conversations private by creating your own Slack channels.”

Isn’t that what this is saying isn’t really private? They’re private from the view of other peons, but your workplace can still download everything you’ve said on ‘private’ channels.

I’m guessing that’s because they can also push down a whole lot of rules and shit to your phone through Exchange.

It’s the chosen communication tool for a lot of workplaces, not really a sword I choose to die on.

Adhering to their move fast and break things motto

His hinting at a presidential run is the weirdest fucking thing, why would anyone on his team think he’s cut out for it. Though they do have Facebooks massive data mine going for them. Well, that, and the current fuckup in chief.

If you click the article link, you can set what your friends can bring about you. If you have nothing selected, an app can’t get your data because a friend agreed to it.

Was it that capable? Iirc they didn’t have it using the RSX since the SDK was never public, and it was choppy without GPU acceleration, and the SPEs which were the whole point of the Cell were also not used (or at least just used like general cores for a very suboptimal experience, I don’t remember). Besides, the

Any indication what the processor inside this is? Wondering if it’ll be as extensible as the Apple Watch going forward. I think I’ll be able to get a discount from Fitbit because of the Charge/Charge HR bands warping, replacements included.
