I’ve seen a number of those Japanese Micro-pickup trucks pop up around here in Canada, and those look like they have just as little crumple zones or safety as these, so looking at these I do wonder if there’s some export potential.

For all the limitations they put on what counts as walking, they sure seem susceptible to cheating. I can’t fathom why they don’t just plug into the API for motion tracking that already exists on iPhones and Android. It’s much lower power draw and can happen in the background with the screen off.
“In US dollars, the Ambassador comes to about $9373.”
That’s inexpensive for a car in the west, but not so dramatically so as some low end ones. Can’t help but feel its lifetime costs would be more than a not much more expensive mass produced car, if they’re giving these to Important People®
They could at least plug into the existing background tracking in iPhones and most new Android phones though. The pedometers already discard anything not walk-ey and don’t require the phone always having the screen on like Go.
What makes me mad about it is all of that work is already done! Android and iOS have APIs that they could plug into that provide sensor fusion and can detect your activity, and can do it in the background at that and then pass the data to the app rather than have it drain your battery being always on for egg tracking.

Is distance properly tracked in those lock ups? I get them nearly every walk home in low power mode.
Anyone know how good the distance tracking works if you’re stopping to catch a few pokemon on the way? I’d hate to lose the distance but my walk home is also where I do most of my catching as my house is a bit of a dead spot for pokemon.
So if I leave the app in low power mode and the GPS keeps jigging like that, I wonder if I’d have racked up at least a bit of distance.
This drives me nuts, so does the 40 dollar step counter accessory, because every iPhone in the last 4 years and most Android phones can already continually track movement in the background. Having to have it open kills battery and moving back and forth to other apps can make tracking spotty. The accessory may fix it,…
I think as you level up they just increase the difficulty of throwing straight, to a point. A lot of mine that I thought were fairly straight ended up curving. Could be a wind effect too.
Monoprice makes routers? I’ve liked all their stuff I bought, but yeah, that’s a bit more complicated a piece of gear that takes a lot more R&D to get right with all the variables and configurations possible, rather than some headphones or a TV mount (or of course, their cables origin)

This surrender video is best surrender video. So much butthurt at having their genocide stopped.
But your iPhone or most Android devices are doing it already.
“Hey, lower-case-mac-upper-case-OS Sierra”
Do you do that on your iPhone then, if you have one?
It would be easier to use a different phrase than to disable on proximity, how about “Hey Mac” vs Hey Siri
Their earlier cutoff points usually could be figured out, 32 bit GPU drivers out, 32 bit UEFI out...This one is just strange. Some suggested SSE4, but your Core 2 Duo Macbook has that.
No hands free Siri makes sense on battery because there’s no dedicated chip (part of the A9 in iDevices) for it for always-on on any shipping Mac, but then, why not allow it on the charger or on the iMac like older iDevices used to?
I got a bunch of the 6 blades from Dorco that supplies Dollar Shave Club (DSC just rebrands for a markup, plus the monthly service), can’t say I liked it. That and the 7 (!!!) blade both had the same issues with clogging way too fast taking twice as long to shave, and even new blades weren’t as sharp as my 5 week old…
