This isn’t an official poster for everyones information, they plucked it off reddit

The prototypes don’t count against final production, no. And they are cannibalizing one of the prototypes to fix another iirc.

Indian officials said “an order of magnitude” lower RCS than the SU-30MKI, which is leading people to cite 0.5m2 for the Pak Fa. That’s much larger than the guesstimates of 0.001 for the F22 or 0.05 for the F35, but that’s also the point of this article, they’re trying to make up for that with missiles that can go

I don’t think anyone realistically expected them to match the RCS numbers of the F22 or even F35, by reports they’re quite a ways away. But that’s a very hard thing to do. The strategy does make sense, longer range, better missiles to make up for the technological deficit in radar reduction.

Wait a second, I saw that chart weeks before that tweet, I think they plucked it off a redditor!

First the Raptorsky, now they’re ripping off the famous American Sikor!

You keep looking at it, and going “That thing *flies*?!”

Are these percentages for the total cost of a car, or how much you spend on it each year? Ie, would the recommended 25% of a 60k salary mean a 15,000 dollar car, or 15,000 per year total to spend on paying for it, say if it was split over three years?

I’m so torn on that one. Actually want one in the maybe near future, I can’t decide which though!

Even stealing engine data wouldn’t make jet engines easy. The manufacturing processes alone take so much experience, how do you make metals with tolorances so tight that it can’t have flaws beyond even what sensors can detect, etc.

The other problem with it is having an entire consortium of countries to deal with for any transfer of technology, as well as the same list of countries to deal with should they ever not like a war India is in and one of them decides to hold out. With the Rafale it’s France alone, and France has been a reliable

It’s insurance. North Korea has enough artillery pointed at Seoul to level it even with all the most advanced defenses. American forces being there is an assurance of an American response should something like that ever happen, and so tells NK that this would be suicide.

That’s how they droop when off, and when the TV is used, it also goes down in a V like that.

The F22 projects what, 1:30ish kill ratios against the SU-35? It would be carnage for their side. If they buy more than 12 Pak Fas and end up with a few hundred of them, then those might drop the F22 kill ratios to more like 1:4 or such, which would still be a win for the US, but a much more lossy one.

I don’t see India buying Typhoons right after buying 36 Rafales...Both planes have some ups and downs (Typhoon is a bit better air to air, Rafale is a bit better at multirole/strike), but they’re so similar that I don’t see why India would get two different types, instead of getting more Rafales. Their fighter jet

Are the Rafale and Typhoon really that different in A2A performance? Everything I’ve seen indicates they are awfully close fighter jets, though yes the Typhoon has an edge in air to air while the Rafale does in multirole strike, but it’s not like the profiles are drastically different.

The real dudes on the left - jesus, so scrawny, and that’s in the military where they get above average food provisions for North Korea. Most people in the country are worse off than that.

There’s a surprising number of DVD players in North Korea, and as for USB drives activists often send the playback device with the media as well.

They’re jointly developing the Pak Fa/FGFA in spite of buying the Rafale, even with the Rafale purchase they want a separate fifth gen stealth fighter. If the Pak Fa is a total flop, they could still get the F35 alongside the Rafale.

The few Bush photos there were more striking to me than the Cheney ones. Kind of feel bad for him there.
