It's the last unibody white macbook that came out, not the aluminum. Nearly everone with one had discoloration, but unlike prior models they had no replacement program for it.

Indeed, HP is by far the worst. I mean, 25% failure rate, that's just insane. Dell isn't in the same league as them, they may not make the prettiest machines but their failure rates are down there with the best.

They also had my laptop shipped to them, fixed, and shipped back in three days. Having Apple stores everywhere is a benefit, but three days and not having to leave your house is pretty good.

For both parts of your post, that would apply to both. Dell replaced a wrist pad I scratched ON MY OWN. The Apple parts wore with much more normal use. The wrist pad discoloration for instance happened to just about everyone with the white uni macbooks.
