So 8GB unified memory with 2GB reserved for the GPU, or 2GB of separate vRAM? If the main memory is GDDR5 as rumored I can't imagine them going with a non-unified pool, so I'd assume the former.

I kind of wish Microsoft would just make an ultrabook with the Surface design/materials. It's really nice and with a keyboard you can use it like an ultrabook, but the floppy keyboard and kickstand combo aren't always optimal. And you could still use it like a tablet in the ultrabook form factor, see the Lenovo Yoga.

It would be even slower browsing the web than two year old smartphones you may have used. Probably three year old smartphones, seeing as it's an ARM core generation behind even the Cortex A8.

Nice, volunteering for a few weeks for free is often a great way to show what you can do.

How feasible is freelance computer programming to make a living off of? Where would I get started? I know of several sites where programmers can bid on projects, but the problem with those is there are myriad programmers from developing countries like India and China who will work for far less, so many auctions become

Banjo Kazooie. Game of my childhood.

I did that while studying last year. I can do 60 good form push ups in a row now.

30GB for a shooter? That's quite large. It's not even as vast a world as say Skyrim from what I can tell. Weird.

Ahh, I remember using Neopets on my Bondi Blue iMac G3, the switch-a-roo gambling game (some guy switches cups around and you guess which one an object is in) ran so slowly on my computer that I could track it so easily that I got really rich really fast on it. For some reason it won't let me log into my account now

Not bad, glad to be done this week of college, it's sunny out so it feels a bit like spring even though that's months off and I'm in Canada. So I feel spring-ey today.

How are you today?

Are there any voice input programs made specifically for programming? Any programmers use voice software like Dragon Naturallyspeaking for coding?

If you say so...I didn't buy it anyhow, I get it for free through university. I thought it was worth the 0 dollars at least. I only mentioned the promotion price because of the guy reccomending an SSD instead, those are far more expensive even if the boost is bigger.

What?

Well naturally if you hate it nothing is worth it. I'm neutral towards it though, it does whatever 7 does for me and does some things a bit faster. I have a Momentus XT 750 hybrid ssd/hdd, and boot went from 30 seconds to about 16.

Are SSDs 15 bucks? The Windows 8 upgrade promotion was.

I'm not in love with Windows 8, but I think he's being melodramatic to upsell the Steam box for sure. It's not that bad. Don't like the start screen and you barely have to use it, pin stuff to the task bar. The desktop is always a windows key press away anyways. There are lots of great improvements too, but I won't

There is one difference though in that games for the Shield are already a self driving machine, as any Android game with controller support will run on it without being made with it in mind. So even if much attention isn't given to it, it will get a steady stream of games.

The first MBPs were introduced in January 2006.
