Well... uh... my wife and I were having some marital issues beforehand and now we’re stuck in the same house together for who-knows-how-long, so... yeah....
I live in Oklahoma and my dad bought one of these when that tax rebate thing hit. I think a lot of people did. So it’s not surprising at all to hear that Joe had one.
Good to know that it makes such a difference. There’s a really nice manual Latitude 4x4 that’s only about an hour away, so I may be going to take a peek at it soon.
As someone who is also 6'5", I’ve been looking in to this blog lately. They have a section on cars that are tall-guy friendly, mostly going by “vision line height.”
I mean, it might work if you don’t mind having the top edge of the windshield (visor and all) directly in your line of sight?
Good to know! I’ve mostly just known of the original Scion xB, Ford Transit Connect, the Ford Flex, and the Honda Element as having decent VLH.
I was legit already planning on it as my 2 series is approaching that 100k mile mark and I’m tired of making payments on it. Looking into buying a first-gen Scion xB for that sweet vision line height.

I love it. It’s nuts. It looks well-done. It’s decently performant (based on the numbers).
Your username here is only making this better, tbh
As a Very Tall Person™, I’m really just shooting myself in the foot if I don’t at least try sitting in a similar model to whatever I might be wanting to buy. People said that I’d likely fit in the new Miata. I tried it. The top of the windshield was directly in my line of sight.
This was poetic. I had to capture it as such.
I mean... I worked there for a long time (though admittedly not during a pandemic), and nothing in this article is really wrong, per se. Or at least not surprising.
I worked at UPS for 7 years (loader, then “pick-off” sorter). So my reaction to reading this little bit:
Our local Hyundai dealership isn’t quite as pleasant as our local BMW dealership (and they’re right next door to each other, but owned by different people). BUT, the Hyundai dealership isn’t bad by any means. The BMW dealership has some really nice amenities.
