You know, at least Salvation sort of makes sense (unlike Genisys) and is only a little bit stupid (unlike T3). There were some pretty sweet action set pieces in Salvation and at least it wasn't just another retread of the originals.

Baguette + anything = good. There is a whole subgenre of Vietnamese cooking devoted to proving that.

Liver and kidney damage? Both are associated with morbid obesity but (theoretically at least) are supposed to be somewhat reversible following the requisite lifestyle change and weight loss. Man- obesity is such a killer.

I can remember thinking of this movie as like a fever dream. Along with "The Killing of an Egg" there's almost something Jungian about how these weird cartoons impact you

"Uncle Buck and Aunt Sapphire bring the chilluns down to Kingfish's bar for a lesson in hair straightening and internalized racism! Tonight on ABC".

It looked like they were framing the shot for that. A piss soaked jump scare probably wouldn't have been the best return for the character though.

"Arya discovered Northos Americos but was killed by Aztec dragons and was never seen again".

I really wanted like a single line about her using "Maester's Mold" or something on Arya's wound. One stab wound in the intestines is sepsis city, let alone multiple stabs and a canal swim. Just give me some acknowledgment that chicken soup and a little opium would do nothing for infection.

"The Shield" ended pretty much perfect. The way that show evolved from fairly hokey semi-procedural with a "bad-ass" lead into a legitimately great exploration of morality and justice is pretty unprecedented.

If they'd got it on tape they might have ended up with a second season.

Look, if you've never jerked off in front of Garfunkel and Oates then you're some kind of sicko looking for some kind of disgusting positive public profile.

Patrice was so young as well. Only 41.

You can't judge Kirkman based on the show or on how success has changed him. Go back and read "Invincible", the first 100 issues of 'Walking Dead' or 'Irreedeemable Ant-Man'. When he's writing comics he's still one of the best in the field.

There are still mudlarks today. Sadly they've become licensed amateur detectorists instead of a strange subterranean society of cockney CHUDs.

Graphically I think this one is really well done.

The header screenshot they used looks like it could have come from Der Stuermer.

Absolutely. The whole "moral majority" flap really poisoned the well of discourse and has made it kind of impossible to look at seriously.

It's an extraordinarily strange moment. The Internet can normalize, incubate and amplify so many harmful obsessions and psychoses; when you couple that with easy access to firearms it's a uniquely American disease.

Now enjoy these flayed hookers!

"Predator 2" is absolutely insane but still holds up. It's a weird movie with some strange racial undercurrents but Danny Glover is fantastic and the world building was excellent in that 90s 'near future dystopia' way.
