The Last Jedi isn’t terrible. There are problems and some areas need to be tightened up (the casino planet Canto Bight has some great ideas that just don’t work), and the whole setup of the slow chase would work better if it wasn’t set immediately after The Force Awakens. On the other hand, Rise of Skywalker is a

I am certain this isn’t the most popular opinion - I never liked Carnage. Venom made sense, it was a good direction for the symbiote story. Carnage was just pure excess for the sake of excess. Now, it’s a comic book, so excess is obviously not a problem, but this really was one of those characters that make you say,

1. That looks awful. Not in the “So bad it’s fun” kind of awful, like genuinely, legitimately awful. The movie might be decent, but this trailer is doing it no favors, speaking of which...

2. Goddamn, that might be one of the worst trailers I’ve seen in recent memory. Horrendously edited, shitty pacing, and the sound

Apparently it’s Tenoch Huerta.

Really the only main characters to die in the books were Boromir, who turned evil (he got better but alas too late), and Gandalf, and that one didnt take. EVERYONE survived.

A few things:

I hate that one of my favorite places on the internet is staffed by some of the most amazing people on earth while being administrated by some of the worst. Good luck out there, and keep being your amazing self. I’ll read anything you write, anywhere you write it.

Who else was blipped though? I think canonically Shuri was, which is a big problem.

Let’s be frank, though. This wasn’t UNC foolishly getting carried away with culture-war anxiety, this was their well-established, racist old guard having FEELINGS about an accomplished Black woman saying things that made them uncomfortable.

The sad part is the Lovecraftian aspects of the show is likely not the reason; it is because this country is not mature enough to accept a mainstream show that showed the evils of 1950s white supremacy so clearly.

Tommy Lee and Heather Locklear set the bar for this well before he started dating Pamela.

Or they’re holding back something much more awesome if they’re willing to show what they did.

See, I on the other hand was raised on nothing but the finest ‘80s teens slaughtered by whatever movies as hosted by Rhonda Shear, Gilbert Gottfried, and Joe Bob Briggs.

Come on, they’re spoiling an episode that came out a full week ago.

You’re saying his magical abilities are more low-key.

Young Billy is the cute little traumatized moppet from The Haunting of Hill House miniseries on Netflix and it blows my mind that is the same kid.

You are not wrong. Not having a “latest” link for io9 means that I just don’t go to that page anymore. Don’t know if I’m missing anything or not, but that’s just the way it goes.

Harry Styles seems like the obvious choice to fill Bowie’s role. Not to overly compare the two but they occupy a similar space of pop artist who works in music, fashion and film. Styles can act and his persona would be a good fit for the eternally youthful, seductive and rebellious vampire.

looking forward to not watching the PG-13 remake...

Yeah...it took maybe 10 seconds to figure that twist out.
