One might call it…the Hotel California

Agreed, Kai is wonderful, but I still feel like she and Ryan are both just temporary wedges.

"but to me, it was more like Nick and Fancy-Man that had that certain je ne sais quoi"

Stepford boyfriend is the perfect term. I hope Erik is right in his theory, and that it's by design. The alternative (that it's just really poor writing) is quite sad.

Every time I watch this, something different makes me laugh. If it's not Schmidt missing the first few steps then really getting into it, it's Nick completely missing the entire rhythm (completely in character). And of course there is Wayans' form which is both self-serious and hilarious…

Yep, the opening & closing scenes are best understood when thought of in reverse order.

Very well stated.

Totally agreed. I laughed at the "fluffer" comment, but Eli's response made me feel ashamed for doing so.

Kalinda seems lone wolf, though I'd love to see her chilling with Yoga Jones.

Eli's "When did you get so crass?" was so perfectly dad-like and still so perfectly Eli.

Can't remember where I read it, but Czuchry confirmed he has been losing weight for character reasons. It'll be nice to see him get back to proper shape (and oh what a shape it is…)

"Small Potatoes" for those unaware. A classic (Vince Gilligan-penned) episode.

I don't think he's been pining for her that whole time. I think he realized how much he cares when the season 3 spiral into mania happened. As another poster stated, the kiss felt earned. It wasn't out of nowhere by any means. I do think Carrie's 180 on their relationship prospects was off, though. And that it was

Just imagining his stupid/terrible Boston accent has now ruined my morning.

The Americans mistranslated "presents" in their opening titles for half a season. I'm pretty sure Hollywood relies on Google translate a little too heavily.

I don't really think they're retconning a romance. It always seemed to me that Max had a crush on her and it was a one-sided thing. That doesn't make it at all implausible that he'd be invested in avenging her death, or at least making Carrie feel guilty as fuck about it.

He definitely had a crush. It just wasn't discussed much because he's generally not that developed as a character. Maybe now he will be?

This is an A episode for me simply because they showed Schmidt's jar in the background. Love that it's still a running joke without constantly being referenced.

Depending on Kalinda's story arc, The Good Wife may soon be on this list.

I also loved that she missed.
