The underlying problem is also that new car prices are so incredibly high that you have people taking out 7 to 10 year loans on a car to make the payment affordable. This right here is ridiculous. If you can not afford the payment on a 3-5 year loan you can not afford the car.

CDL needs to be a lot harder to get and keep. it used to be very difficult, but it really seems the number of large truck drivers that are careless has shot up.

very hard for them to get the number. Very Very hard. I always tell them about 10% less than I will accept from them which is about 30% below what I am asking. It’s a fantastic mind trick to get past the “we hate paying you what you are worth so we will lowball you” crap that HR always pulls.
