I doubt it, even chains are closer to the real thing than something with alfredo or tomatoes. I’m not sure why you would even go to a place that doesn’t make a dish the way you like it, then order that dish and instruct someone on how to make it completely differently. You’re way better off ordering something else or going somewhere that makes the dish the way you like it.

The amount of times I’ve overheard diners in Italian restaurants insisting to waitstaff that carbonara is supposed to be served with Alfredo sauce, which is itself usually a modified bastardization, is disturbing.
