There was an episode on the talk where she spoke about the controversy of her old face versus new. She was really open that she couldn’t get jobs because her face was deemed to Asian, and she felt a lot of shame about how she looked. Many people don’t realize that’s a song about cheating, including my husband. He thought it was a sexy song about a married couple getting it on. People don’t listen to lyrics well.

Can you explain why you are less annoyed by them (serious)? I find them more annoying as I think Terek uses his wife as a trophy and rarely seems to treat her as a human. I change the channel whenever they come on. I also may be triggered by how OC they are, and I really hate the OC.

When I read that, I had the same reaction. I think if it as the happy divorcee song from First Wives Club, asserting independence from being objectified, not a let’s join lives tribute song. Also, she walked down the aisle to the song, not just had it song.
