This lifelong lefty was a long-time supporter/defender of nuclear power but after several decades of no progress being made on the waste disposal front, I can’t really in good conscience support it these days. If Yucca Mountain hadn’t been derailed, maybe, but you can’t just keep creating more waste without a longterm…
Yes, this is very common in most other countries. My Dad grew up in a similar manner, as did Mr. BlueLark’s family, so both of us were introduced to the occasional glass of wine or sip of beer or even the occasional sip of whiskey when we were 12/13.
Rupert has never endorsed left leaning politicians in Australia. He firmly backs the Liberal Party (which, confusingly, is right wing).
He was with Fox since 1996, and was directly responsible for the strategic development of News Corp from 2007 on.
Queen Bee, a Queefing Furby sounds like Vogon Poetry
This is a really naked attempt at deflection from something. Something’s really bothering him, so it must be big for him to pull a stunt like this.
Hmmm, “outside agitators”! Why, I do declare, they’ve been using THAT dogwhistle ever since the Freedom Ride years.
I have lots of surnames (I come from a shithole country™). My name literally had to be “tweaked” to fit the system used by the Social Security Office. The same happened with my driver’s license, where the DMV had to add a non-existent hyphen to my surname to circumvent their character-limit. This is a fucking banana…
I get my hypothetical kids drunk all the time.
Buying a Tesla for many people is about virtue signaling. If a company ceases to provide that benefit, they will go elsewhere.
While I don’t think young teens should be getting drunk, I do believe its the parents job to teach their kids how to drink responsibly. Their friends in high school and college sure aren’t going to.
He’s a Murdoch, he definitely does not solve the first problem.
I think if you’re going to have a drinking problem, you’ll have one regardless of whether or not your parents let you have sips of wine with dinner every once in a while. But I think there is something to be said for growing up watching your parents enjoying food and alcohol in moderation.
I don’t have kids but I grew up being allowed to at least taste everything my parents drank, and small pours of wine starting when I was maybe 11 or 12. My parents rarely had wine with dinner so it’s not like this was every night, more like a couple of times a month, at most. As a result, there was never any ‘thrill’…
Treatment of Tesla employees will soon be fair & balanced.
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems shitty that someone who was the chairman of News Corp, which used its Fox News arm to tell us, among other lies, that global warming wasn’t happening and that we should drill for more oil as fast as we can, probably should not be the head of a company that’s challenging our addiction…
This is where American exceptionalism comes to play. South America and the Caribbean don’t have much problems with it, but the US does get weird about this. We will let someone die in a war, let them vote for the most powerful position on the planet, but a nip of the good stuff, of heavens no.
No, I probably wouldn’t serve LeBron’s kids wine, but I don’t think they are coming to visit any time soon.
If your kid is going to have their first puking hangover, better to have it in the comfort of their own home instead of curled up weeping in the corner of the dorm shower. Makes total sense.
