I don't live in a dense city, and we get all the local stations perfectly. Try getting an amplifier for your antenna. This $20 antenna works fine for us, and comes with an amplifier.

Nevermind, just got my invite. Now to see if they verify me or not.

and? that means it's not there just because you haven't experienced it?

I have. I've also seen first hand the driver issues, and various other OS issues my cousin deals with after upgrading. No thanks.

So are they definitely still doing this? i signed up on like January 31 i think, and i still haven't gotten an invite. Will i be getting one even though they end it today?

Exactly! People just get so offended over every little small thing all the time. Get over it!

LOL! couldn't have said it better myself. Although i heard they optimized the OS a bit more, so it may be worth upgrading (and disabling metro of course) just for the speed benefits though. I'm probably just gonna stick with 7 though.

I think it's pretty obvious they were talking about shutting it down from within the OS. and as others have stated it goes to sleep by default, not shutdown.

Than**

You must live in a different world than i do if you think a tablet interface is better with a keyboard and a mouse than an interface originally designed for a keyboard and a mouse :P I'm curious, what do you think is so innovative about metro? Rather than using less than a quarter of my screen like the normal start

Very true! I've found I really like google wallet though. It's really nice how i can login to wallet and see all the purchases i've made on various sites, and actually get info about my order in google wallet itself. I would suggest ecrater and google wallet to people looking for paypal alternatives.

Nope zenni has anti-reflective coating too. I got it on my glasses.

Well people actually made MPEG2 codecs, but they couldn't take advantage of the hardware decoder. It had to use the cpu, so it couldn't even play videos most phones can now :P

It's because they don't want to make the rPI more expensive for the people who aren't going to be using it as a media player, so they never paid for all the licences for the different hardware decoders. The MPEG2 decoder was just $3 though, and they just email you a code that unlocks the MPEG2 hardware decoder.

i see, yeah i just wouldn't trust it with all the data i backup on my NAS though. I can't imagine rebuilding a RAID array on it either :P it'd probably take a week. Yep, even at 1080p the playback is smooth as butter. It's because they apparently put a really awesome GPU in it with hardware decoders. So the cpu

Idk if you'd want to use that as a NAS. It doesn't have near enough cpu/ram to be a very fast NAS. I believe you're supposed to have like 1GB of ram for every 1TB of disk space on your NAS. Not to mention it doesn't even have gigabit ethernet (it probably won't even come close to the 100mbit it's rated at though). I

Yeah! who would ever have an urgent need for a lid to a jar! that's not practical at all! (heavy sarcasm if you couldn't tell)

Yeah it uses plastic, but the plastic is really cheap. Just get it from a local hardware store or something. Also something that small is gonna be more like less than a dollars worth of plastic.

More like under a dollar. depending on the deal you get on plastic.
