I don’t know where you are getting your pricing from but I just loaded up a current generation Encore and it’s hitting 40k. Add on the Avenir and you can bet it’s going to be 45+

I just don’t understand the market for this vehicle. Who’s spending this kind of a money on a small, under-powered, roller skate? Would you just get the BMW or Merc equivalent?

I kinda like the looks and I don’ that the interior but this thing would be dangerous to merge onto a Boston area highway with... I’m guessing a 0-60 time north of 10 seconds.

Funny enough I went from the Jetta to a B5.5 Passat GLS V6 and, like you, I miss that car dearly.  It just ate mile after mile after mile at 80-90mph.  So comfortable.  Quiet, smooth, and I really liked the looks of the B5.5

Who is the market for this car?  A three cylinder?  137 horsepower?  I didn’t know it was possible for a car to be made with such little tiny horses.

The first car I ever bought on my own, just out of college, a 2001 Jetta GLS, silver with black leather interior, heated seats, monsoon sound system, 1.8t and a manual. I don’t know... the promise of zero to 60 in 6.6 seconds plus the MPG’s has me considering it for the next car. If it actually handles it would be a nice little hatch...

of course it has a fucking CVT so... meh

I really really wanted this.  Then I realized it was FWD only.  Living in the northeast I want AWD.  Especially in a rocket like that.

I didn’t buy a GTI because of this exact reason. What the hell were they thinking???

A typo vs an actual misspelling... Good on ya though.  If foreign countries want to allow non-citizens to purchase property that is up to them.  I’m saying we shouldn’t be selling our natural resources to foreign countries i.e. China or Saudi Arabia. 

I’m no more a xenophobe than I am a homophobe. I just don’t see the value in letting foreign countries purchase large swathes of American land and natural resources.

Explain to me please the value in doing so.  I’ll entertain a lively debate but you will refrain from name calling.

I read about this as well and was shocked. Like we don’t have enough water issues in the west without selling the land on top of aquifers  to people who want us dead? Fucking shocking.
