I wish it was unsalable here. Why we choose to allow new vehicles to be produced with such god awful fuel economy is beyond me. The world is burning and this is the plan? Jesus Christ.

It’s a hideous beast of a machine. Should have just called it a Canyonero.
And fuck them for making a machine that gets such shit economy.
I really miss Fancy Kristen
I have a visceral reaction whenever I see a new BMW. Fucking hideous.
So sick of cops. Never had a use for one. Ever.
Jesus, man. Get a grip!
Ahh yes. Cops. The paragons of truth and service. So sick of it.
Looks like a BLEVE to me.
Audi 90 Quattro. Mom’s client had one and he pulled into the drive one day, brand new, and it was then I feel in love with small “fast” Euro sports sedans.
I was enthralled with it. (I’m 42 years old... so... i was absolutely a kid when this thing came out).
Well - the reason that Volvo went this route was less to do with simplicity of engineering and mileage and more to do with the fact that many countries charge tax based on the displacement of the engine. 2.0 litre is far cheaper to pay for than a 4.0 or 4.2.
And let’s not get started on Audi / VW engine complications…
Around town (Boston pandemic traffic) I’ve been getting around 24 indicated... but then again I don’t put my foot to the floor at every stop light. It’s simply too fast to use anything more than light throttle in the city.
If I did the Volvo route again I might just opt for the T5 R-Design.
Don’t know. I’ve only got 3000 miles on it. I don’t care as it’s the Care by Volvo subscription and it covers everything (EVERYTHING including tire) for the length of subscription.
If I had to guess yes, it’ll be expensive to fix. Same as any other modern car. As far as long term reliability? It’s probably too early to…
I have a new (2021) Volvo S60 T6 with the ridiculously complicated 2.0 Turbo / Super charger. On a recent trip from Boston to the far northern reaches of Vermont (St. Albans Bay to be exact) I had a reported fuel economy of 28.9mpg up and 30.1 on the way back down (cruise was set at 77, the car was in eco-mode).
This…
They didn’t replace the tensionsers, guides, and water pump when they did the timing belt? Any VW owner would tell you that they ALL need to be replaced at the same time... Bad luck man.
I’m glad you like your car; by all accounts is a lovely driving machine.
Good! Jeep needs a reality check.
I’m sure the first time I see the new BMW 2 I’ll simply wretch.
Why is it still so freaking ugly? Every time I see one on the road I think to myself ‘how did that fucking thing get past the design phase in this form?’
The JGC does this... if it’s below 40 (I think, maybe 45) degrees you can set the seat and wheel heaters to turn on when the car is turned on. With remote start you’re guaranteed to have at least your ass and hands warm when you get in.
Fun fact:
