More like beginning of real hurricane season. It may not be as bumpy as other years due to El Nino providing a cap to the worst of storms, but I’m sure September and October will provide for an interesting ride. Still, huge algae blooms, king tides, Florida Man/Woman, all the gators and pythons, and the other

Meanwhile half the state's uninsurable and they're in the middle of hurricane season.

This shitstain must NEVER EVER get anywhere near the White House.

So they’re admitting Florida = a burning building? Finally something we agree on

To be fair, Florida is a burning building, these dumb fucks just don’t realize they're the ones who lit and are pouring gas on the fire

this is not fine

I can imagine how much of a pain it would be to get enough PC’s ready for a tournament. You have to touch each PC to install games, drivers, and patches. It would help to have some kind of endpoint management system like Microsoft Intune to handle all of the installs and updates.

I wish modern gaming hardware altogether didn’t run so hot. RTX/RX GPUswill fuck around and melt shit in your PC too if you’re not careful with cooling, especially in micro-atx. Sony fix your shit, the PS5 is ugly enough that it shouldn’t melt too, unless that’s part of whatever look you were going for.

I don’t know,

Anyone else remember the hubub a year or so ago when Sony quietly replaced the heat sink in the PS5 with a much smaller one? makes me wonder if maybe these are the new models that are overheating. either that or potentially the USB control board is defective and sending full power to the joysticks if they don’t have

The thing is the Gamestonk guys never thought the company was profitable. They did the investment out of nostalgia for the brand and to screw over big investment firms trying to short the stock(I believe that is the right term). And it was only really possible because the government gave people a lot of free money

I almost went to one the other week because I needed to pick up an Xbox X but was spared because when I looked on their website no location within 35 miles had one.

Everytime I’ve been to GameStop in the last five or so years I’ve been struck mostly by how paltry their selection is. It’s as though nothing is available without ordering it ahead of time. Best Buy has more recent and varied games in stock than them, and the only Best Buys around me are basically half shuttered.

Even without digital distribution, Gamestop still feels like a shambling corpse.

Yep. The #MemeStock thing only made sense because investment firms were over shorting the stock. Buying some stock as part of that wave and then cashing out before the crash was a smart play. But some people turned Diamond Hands into a religion and refuse to accept that they’re victims of sunk cost fallacy.

Now playing

To get an idea how bad it is for GameStop, watch this:

Last time I actually set out to visit a GameStop I found it had been shuttered. Unphased, I continued on with my walk knowing there was a second location further down my route. That one was closed too.

So basically, in less than a month and a half, TOtK made Nintendo over a billion dollars. In a month and a half. And I don’t even think you can buy the DLC yet.

It sold more units in that time than the Wii U over it’s entire lifetime.

Tears of the Kingdom, for example, the follow-up to 2017's Breath of the Wild, sold 18.51 million units just between its May 12 launch and June 30, roughly a month and a half.
