Activision: “You know, we really needed someone who could provide first hand accounts of committing war crimes for that true authenticity in next year’s CoD, and boy howdy, this guy sure overdelivers.”

I mean, I’m just incredibly grateful that Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are still easily accessible on one of the three main modern platforms. Plenty of great and unique JRPGs from that generation are even more landlocked and actually require keeping those old consoles around - Last Story and Eternal Sonata, especially.
I’ve been using Edge for months after Lifehacker published a similar article, and after years of dealing with Chrome using an insane amount of RAM even with just a couple of tabs open. And it’s been great! It runs smoothly and uses far less memory, all the extensions and bookmarks from Chrome quickly transferred over…
Works fine for me as well. Plus you can do that search in a quick sidebar rather than a separate tab.
“Yawn, I’m so high above this low logic that I find it necessary to type Yawn to indicate my nonchalance even while I’m both needlessly pedantic and (yawn) have poor reading comprehension, completely missing the point that (yawn) it was a comment on the show as a whole and only a small part (yawn) actually applies to…
Same. A few months ago I had the strange unexpected urge to replay FFXV now that a bunch of patches and DLC has been added, plus it’s on Game Pass. But 120gb is an insane amount of space for a single game, both from a hard drive and internet data cap point of view (and I suppose a download time point of view as well,…
Because the “pirates” you look down on have acted as the gaming industry’s archivists for nearly the entirety of the medium’s existence while the publishers and developers were often quick to discard old code and materials as they started the next game (Square had to go through considerable effort to rebuild FFVII,…
As others have said, it’s more distressing to me that this video game that’s likely glorifying the largest in a series of war crimes probably has a sizable audience at all. At some point I fully expect the publisher to lean into this controversy with marketing along the lines of “Wanna really own those libs?! Preorder…
One of my biggest wishes for the gaming industry would be for the major companies and publishers to give half a shit and at least do the bare minimum to preserve and honor their history. I’d love for them to even contract with developers that have proven themselves to be great at legacy collections and modernizations (…
*looks at list*
...so this thing’s main purpose is just to route all his marks followers through his online merch store, right? I’m sure he’s missing those sweet sweet hat sales with his business dropping due to the pandemic.
Big oof at first glance. As HyperGamer mentioned, development time was super fast early on - typical development time for the 2d games was about a year on average, and the core gameplay was relatively similar from FF I thru VI. Even FFVII & VIII were relatively quick projects, if I remember right about 18 months each…
Still confused why this rerelease of a game with an existing localization / translation took seven extra months...hopefully not an omen for SMT V's eventual release, assuming it ever arrives.
I’m genuinely baffled that the PS Store doesn’t have some kind of simple hardware check between whether you’re browsing on a PS4 or PS5 (I understand you might need to specify on a phone or the web), which could then prioritize PS5 versions on that console. I just assumed something like that was the basis of Smart…
I admire your optimism, but you can’t fix poor game design in a couple months...
I think it’s one of those newfangled meal kit services?
38% of Iceland’s GDP!
According to a quick google search, as of 2021 (and possibly before this bonus took place) Kotick already had a personal net worth of $8 billion, which for context is:
-a third of EA’s entire net worth ($24 billion)
-five times the net worth of Square Enix ($1.26 billion)
-almost double Ubisoft’s net worth ($4.5 billion)
B…
I get your point, but maybe not a solid general rule, since you could also say something like “I pay X in taxes and I sure wish those went to medicare for all, public education, and green infrastructure rather than the military industrial complex, tax cuts for the wealthy, and fossil fuel subsidies!”
Same here. I’m waiting for a PS5 Slim, FFXVI, or FF Remake Part 2 (assuming either of those is still exclusive at that point), I can’t imagine anything else getting me excited enough to drop that kind of money anytime soon when I have a massive backlog already.
