WHOOOOOO’S READDDDDYYY FORRRR MORRRREE BAKUGAN!!!
(my expectations are low - probably some time for Bravely Default 2, P5 Strikers, and MH Rise since they’re coming up soon, but otherwise I’m not expecting any big shocks. Hopefully I’m wrong.)

MGS becomes so cryptic and eats its own tail so much that any political messaging becomes completely incoherent, so...technically an apolitical game after all?
Bold choice to have the second half of the game be untreated trauma while unsuccessfully trying to get support from the VA, while the character somehow accepts the situation.
One of the reasons I’m crossing my fingers for the Switch Pro is that I’ll feel much more comfortable jailbreaking my launch console and giving that thing superpowers.
I mean...why haven’t they just moved on to the GBC/GBA yet? Seems like an easy way to keep people excited about Nintendo Online without getting into the messiness of N64 emulation.
Jokes aside...what possible real-life use case is this for? Who would even need that much processing power in a normal single screen laptop, and then who would ever need seven screens in a portable situation with only an hour (if that) of battery life and weighing as much as a toddler? Did I stumble onto the Onion by…
All great points, thanks! I think that’s something I’d been subconsciously realizing lately but it hadn’t risen to the surface until you put it into words. I’ve similarly pared down entire categories to focus my collecting on things that really matter to me, which has really helped. I think it’s also helped to switch…
Ouch, that sucks. At least FFVII is fairly common so it’s not too bad to replace it if you ever want to. Happy you found it helpful!
I get that. I’ve heard that PS3's built-in emulation for classics did some wonky stuff in regards to visual fidelity (I played a few of those titles back in the day but it’s been half a decade at least since my PS3 died), although it’s hard to argue with the result of a lot more people getting to try Xenogears for a…
Oh trust me, I get that angle and spent the past few years primarily playing these old games through emulation on PC and a hacked SNES Classic - that’s absolutely going to be the best way forward for a lot of people. For me personally, a weirdo who has spent his adult life oscillating between the two…
I’ve been realizing that I seem to be pulling away from the allure of modern gaming and chasing the new releases as they come out, as I’ve been enjoying diving back into older generations much more for the last year or so. I’m still chipping away at Grandia, but the plot’s pretty thin so we’ll see how much farther I…
Goddammit, Chad...
The PS2 hack I’m using is called FreeMcBoot - effectively you just buy a memory card with the hack preloaded for a few bucks, and when you plug it in to the PS2 it runs an exploit that then allows loading game backups from a USB stick or hard drive.
It’s definitely in my top three for the series, and the Zodiac Age version includes amazing quality of life features, like 2x/4x fast forward, dual classes, and the ability to change classes once you reach a certain point. The fast forward alone does wonders for my enjoyment of the game.
*as the internet went crazy for Bowsette*
Final Fantasy XII is my comfort food, especially now that I have Zodiac Age on Switch. I have a couple of save files specifically set up right before you get the ability to choose your first or second classes (not that it matters now that you can switch classes easily), so I can jump in for a new run of trying…
I’d be curious how long the production on this film was, especially how its timeline compares to recent hand-animated Ghibli films, which seem to take eons and insane levels of labor to create. The quote given for the film the main studio is currently working on is that it’s taking about a month to hand-animate each…
*updates the meme of Shigeru Miyamoto holding the DS gleefully, but now with a coronavirus*
No, not hard to find it at all, I just found it through an emulation site with the patch preinstalled. I’m playing on a PS2 using a simple hack that allows for playing PS1 games off a thumb drive, which has been wonderful for oddball / unreleased games like this. I also briefly tried it with Retroarch on my PC and it…
Can somebody just go ahead and make a simple browser extension that automatically replaces “Bloomberg” with “Jason Schreir, press sneak extraordinaire” on Kotaku articles. It’s always him, you don’t have to hide it.
