Now that Microsoft has a direct financial stake in those games and will want to ensure a return on a gigantic investment, it becomes some tricky math for them. They’ll obviously want to beef up Xbox’s exclusive lineup to gain ground with PS5, but they would also have to consider how many copies they could sell on PS5

It’s gotten so out of hand, I don’t even feel bad for adblocking the shit out of all the Giz sites, whereas they used to be one of the few sites I whitelisted. I can’t stand reading the sites on my phone though because it’s exactly like your gif (and somehow even worse if I try to comment), which is really frustrating.

I totally agree, it’s bound to happen for many of their games given the apparent success of their PC ports. It’s frustrating to watch Sony spend the last few years hammering Microsoft for the Xbox’s lack of exclusives, then start to discover the merits of PC ports and consumer choice for themselves, only to backpedal

No worries. I agree that it would make all the sense in the world to bring more of their games to PC, but then again, I’d have assumed Bloodborne would’ve been ported by now so who knows.

I’d actually argue that this trailer gives more of a Tactics + XIV vibe than IX or XII. The geopolitical machinations, tragic events turning an idealistic young knight into a vengeful mercenary, the sense that these magnificent and terrifying deities are impacting and twisting human history and politics - Tactics all

I noticed that too, although I see more of a Ifrit + Behemoth (Behefrit?) with the body physiology.

I was also wondering if the PS+ Collection would be similar to the 3ds Ambassadors program for early adopters, in which Nintendo tried to boost early sales by providing an exclusive set of GBA classics to even out the console’s high launch price.

While I overall agree, just need to point out that apparently Demon Souls is PS5 only (Sony says the PC text in the showcase was a mistake, same with FF XVI). It’s absolutely bonkers that their biggest pre-release showcase lacked a basic level of proofreading, but it’s also possible that Sony was planning on porting

Dragon Quest XI has a really wonderful synopsis feature when you first load up a save, which explains whichever quest or story segment you’re currently working on. It’s such a long game that I definitely took some breaks, so those recaps were a godsend.

I agree that it’s a bullshit response, but I think it comes down to a couple main factors:

Absolutely, especially from the PS1 as those older games are less likely to receive straight ports, which is why PS3's combination of backwards compatibility and PS Classics was so appreciated and so missed now. That console’s fail rate is more of a when than if situation, so it’s unfortunately not as simple as “just

Ha, guess I could’ve worded that better. I bought it from Ikea in 2012 or so, but I’ve owned a lot of retro consoles in that time dating back to the NES in addition to the modern consoles. It was more a comment on the sheer jump in size of the PS5 compared to the entire history of consoles (not helped by those goddamn

I just finished Horizon Zero Dawn for the first time earlier this week (and loved it), but having rewatched the Forbidden West trailer, I didn’t see anything that was radically beyond the scope of the original. Zero Dawn is still an amazingly gorgeous looking game, even on my base PS4, and it performs incredibly well

My poor entertainment center...it’s been home to almost every console since the NES without issues up to this point, although the PS4 was already pushing it. But this new monstrosity? Even with the comparisons above, it’s hard to put it in perspective. So if I go with the slightly smaller digital version, it’s still si

Especially now that Miles Morales and Horizon are on PS4 as well, might as well wait.

I think this may also be for PS4 owners who get the Digital PS5, as a transition solution in lieu of being able to play the discs they may already have.

Right...I also noticed that most of these are older entries in series (RE VII not RE 2 Remake, Last of Us instead of the sequel, etc) as well as base Persona 5 and Monster Hunter, not the expanded / complete editions. So most of these free games have already been deeply discounted on PSN for a long time. Don’t get me

I’m cautiously excited for this. As a lifelong FF fan, my hopes for XVI have been for the series to return to its fantasy roots and fully embrace its vibrant mythology and magic (as represented in IV, IX, etc) while also incorporating the grounded emotional stakes and political machinations of Tactics. I love the

I was wrong about XIII (as stated in another response), but Nomura was absolutely the creative lead and director for much of XV (as Versus XIII) until Tabata was put in charge to get the project under control and shipped. Here’s a statement from Square’s CEO, where he describes Nomura: “As the director of Final

The gentleman prefers his naked women to be adults, not teenagers. He also prefers games that at least give half a shit about storytelling and character development, rather than what appears to be using the crutch of anime tropes and old-fashioned T&A. Guess I’m just not in the thirteen year old boy target demographic
