Sorry, the phrasing might have been confusing - the game pass games are “free”, but classics like LO and BD are separate from that. I actually bought both digitally during Microsoft’s / Xbox Black Friday sale for like $6 each, and I think they were normally only $10-15.

Pictured: Scarlett and Lockhart competing for sales.

Seems like we need an updated version of the “IT PRINTS MONEY” DS meme for the occasion...

Contrary to all reason (it’s the end of the generation, and I already own a PS4, Switch, and PC), I ordered the $150 Xbox One S w/ Jedi Fallen Order bundle from Target for Black Friday (after a $100 gift card, I feel pretty good about that). I know it doesn’t make any goddamn sense, but frankly I haven’t turned on my

I also had big problems with the amnesia plot on this recent playthrough - it comes out of nowhere, and makes basically no sense within the rest of the plot. Your ideas about how to better integrate it into the story gave me another idea...couldn’t they just explain the fact that they were all trained as child

I mean, if I’m a somewhat sentient monster captured and forced to do a 10 year old’s bidding for their personal profit, I’ll take a day cooling drinks or helping with product design over literal dogfighting against giant rock snakes, ghosts that steal the spirits of children, and other terrifying abominations against

Thanks so much for writing this. I’ve had a very similar experience with the series (started when it first came out at ten and have played every gen since then, some multiple times) and also the same reaction to this fan reaction. For those folks, here’s some truth:
-The animations in this game, by and large, are fuckin

I assume they're meant to be feral? Also interesting that Meowth might be the first with three totally separate forms / evolution lines.

Also, get the free special Meowth through the Mystery Gift in the menu!

I’d hope so, considering all of those FFs are already on PC.

I think that’s intended to be an option eventually, but I’m not sure if it is at launch. The issue is that these games weren’t designed for such small screens, so the text and UI are probably going to be illegible.

They actually go on sale for $30-40 all the time, and I'm sure they'll get cheaper once PS5 releases.

According to their website, the only way to play on a TV for the foreseeable future is with the Stadia Controller and Chromecast Ultra ($130 plus $10/month, so after a year you’ve paid $250 already). The free version isn’t launching until sometime next year. In order to use any controller you would then be stuck

So...I know it’s cliche at this point to rag on Stadia, but seriously, what tiny sliver of a demographic is this for at this point? People who want to play a tiny number of AAA games (probably at full price, many years after release and much cheaper elsewhere) but not enough to have purchased a console or PC yet, who

Jesus, those comic panels look like shit. Did a different artist draw each character?

Sure, but since MGS3 is a prequel, it feels much more standalone and self-contained, which is to its advantage. I’d argue the same about MGS1 - since Kojima’s lore and worldbuilding had yet to get out of control with plot twists wrapped in plot twists, it all still makes some level of sense as long as you’re paying

I did. It was about a decade ago so all I really remember is being confused for most of the plot, and that Raiden was the worst.

I 95% agree, but feel the need to point out that MGS 1 and 3 are both comparatively coherent storylines. I don’t think things went off the rails much until 4.

Excuse me, but you forgot the actual best Luigi - the one from the Mario & Luigi RPGs, who has incredible amounts of personality and charm.
