I can understand that - I still have my old SNES under the TV, but since it’s a nightmare to get the TV and old console to cooperate well, it’s been mostly neglected in favor of the SNES Classic.

I know that it can be beat in 30min, but I’d guess that my play time was closer to 2 hrs. There’s a lot of wandering around to try to figure out where you should be headed next, which I’m sure pushed a lot of people away, and I had to check a guide a couple times. It’s a great and clever game, but it’s very much an…
Fun fact: Skate Jam was also the name of a once-planned Space Jam sequel starring Tony Hawk, so I can’t imagine the name is a coincidence.
Completely agree. The entire plot comes to a standstill, and there’s such a blatant formula to each of the worlds:
-Arrive and meet the movie characters, see the bad guys messing up the movie plot
-Wander around for macguffins and fetch quests
-See the movie villain
-Fight a boss
-Get that sweet, tiny hit of actual plot…
True fact - Isabelle is gaming’s Leslie Knope.
I recently started playing through KH1&2 HD Remix, which was the first time I touched the series since BBS, and I’m genuinely surprised at how much I’m still onboard this series’ particular brand of melodrama as a 30 year old man. Roxas’ plot at the beginning of KH2 didn’t feel like weird filler this time - his…
...so why couldn’t it just be ‘hey, if you’re playing this game before Jan 31, you clearly bought it already, so here’s your new character!’??? You could even make it a little limited time button in the corner of the menu, like the Spirit Board events.
“I mean, come on, have you ever been to Wisconsin? Eww.”
-Foxconn, probably
A) The Switch is completely different hardware from the Wii, so I’d bet that a vast majority of those games wouldn’t even work on the new hardware, making that strategy unfeasible.
I never realized it before now, but I can’t believe MGS4 was never on PS+ and that somehow MGS5 was...so weird.
I know that Nintendo’s getting a lot of grief over this shutdown, but I guess I don’t see what the alternative is. There’s no way that maintaining the servers for a 13 year old service that the world has moved on from is economically sensible, as I imagine the traffic has to be nearly zero, and even this last minute…
Interesting to see that the vast majority of the changes are buffs, and the only character I can see that’s primarily nerfed is K Rool.
Having been around for every generation, I loved almost all of the changes for Sun and Moon, so I think you missed out. I’m not sure all of them need to stick around, but I’m glad they tried new things and hope that the next game is a hybrid between the old style with some of the new improvements.
It’s been so long since we’ve had news that I literally forgot it was episodic. My expectations are so low.
I don’t know shit about this game, but that logo is damn clever - spelling it Prey but insinuating Pray through the kneeling person forming the E. *chef kiss gesture*
Hopefully this spurs them to reevaluate some of their shitty practices being called out in the comments, and possibly try to become more consumer friendly in an attempt to remain competitive, but I doubt they’re that self-reflecting. Outside of using a couple of gift cards from holidays, I haven’t actually shopped at…
I’m not sure which large rock you’ve been living under, but Sony’s been killing it in exclusives for most of this generation, and I’m saying that as a fellow PC gamer. Yes, you may have access to 90%+ of games on PC, but that means you’re missing out on God of War, Spiderman, Horizon, Persona 5, Bloodborne, on and on..…
Buy some twelve packs to support local breweries and drink those feelings of isolation and inactivity away while watching the entire series of House for the fourth time.
To be clear, I wasn’t being overly critical of the series - I enjoy the games and have played quite a few of them, but I’m not a passionate fan who’s buying this day one. That might have been the case if it came out a decade ago, but my tastes have changed. I’ll still probably pick it up at some point, but it’s not…
Honestly, every time I saw trailers for this game, I thought “man, this looks just like a PS2 game with HDR cranked to the max”. And as I’ve been replaying KH1 & 2 over the past week or so on PS4, I think “huh, so I guess KH3 will be a lot like this, but with way more particle effects”. And you know, having watched…
